    Sea of the thieves / Xbox windows connection issue.


    Just got the game and have installed. I have been trying for 2 hours to get into the game and seem unable to. It keeps getting me the final loading screen after you hit set sail and then "Connection to server has been lost. Please check your connection and
    try again. (Almond beard or Alabaster beard)" I've been messing around with firewall and internet settings and can't seem to find anything wrong.

    Any insight would be very welcome.

    Also to add this happens if I try to que for solo or multiplayer.

    It also says that my server connectivity is blocked. I've followed all the trouble shooting guides and still no change.

    I want to figure out if I can install Sea of Thieves to my computer because I already have it on my Xbox. My issue is I bought the disc version of Sea of Thieves and I'm wondering if I can install it on my Windows 10 computer.

    cannot connect through game bar to sea of thieves via windows 11

    Good evening,

    I am also having the same issue where I cannot join my friends on Sea of thieves though the xbox gamesbar. I recently upgrade my pc to windows 11, and no issues with this on windows 10. I have both the steam version and windows store version of sea of thieves but only installed the steam version on my pc since upgrading to windows 11. I am able to play with my friends via the steam client, but when I try to join via the games bar I get the error of ms-application not found or something similar.

    Things I have tried to resolve the issue are:
    Uninstall / reinstall both the xbox gamesbar and sea of thieves
    Deleting the the registry keys for xbox gamesbar and sea of thieves

    Neither of these options worked. I am very confident it is not a network error as I am able to play of with others online. It is just inconvenient to not be able to use the xbox app.

    Thanks for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are interested in learning if you need Xbox Live Gold in order to play Sea of Thieves on Windows 10.

    The Windows 10 version of Sea of Thieves     does not require the subscription to play it. Although, using online multiplayer features for Xbox games requires Xbox Live Gold. The link we provided explains more about the game. We hope this information helps!
