Lots of devices have this problem where if you mash the buttons, something becomes disconnected, like a keyboard, piano, or controller. Of course, I'm not trying to accuse you of anything. I think that something in the bumper has become
disconnected or broken, which is probably what you're thinking too. Sometimes if you spill something sugary on it the buttons or insides of the controller become sticky, and the buttons don't work (I learned that the hard way). I would try taking a warm, slightly
wet/damp cloth and try to clean out the insides of the controller, specifically the gap between the bumper and trigger. If this doesn't work, go ahead and Google it, chances are that someone on the internet has had the same problem and knows how to fix it.
