    Screentime resets after shut down


    Hello,

    I have set my son's screen time limit through my Microsoft family account online to 2 hours a day.

    He often plays on it before school and I have realised that when he then plays again after school the timer starts again.

    This is very frustrating and I dont know why its doing that.

    Can anyone help?

    Severely slow menu selection

    Try a hard reset.

    Hold the power button down until the Xbox One completely shuts off. Then turn it back on.

    For all those thinking about picking up Unity

    Does seem to be playing a little better now after I did a hard reset. I have been playing for a few days and never shut the game down and was using the instant resume. I have noticed when leaving a game on for multiple days and never quitting out of the game sometimes the game starts running bad.

    Hey there UKlilMiss1976.

    Make sure that the region of your son's account and Xbox One are set to your physical locale. It's possible that your Xbox One is set to a different time zone which would lead to the timer resetting at different intervals. Keep us in the loop if that isn't

    Thanks for your reply.

    I have checked the settings on both his xbox and our Microsoft family account and they are both correctly set to the UK

    Any other ideas?

    Apologies for the delay in response. This particular issue is super odd, so we can further narrow it down can you clarify if your Xbox One is set to Instant On or Energy Saving?

    I've had this before, and doing a hard reset of the console did the trick for me. Hold down the power button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it completely shuts down to perform a hard reset (you can also disconnect the power cable
    from the back of the console for 30 seconds AFTER shutting down the console to reset the system cache, but I'd try a simple hard reset first).
