    Screen time set up

I want to set this feature up so I can limit game time for my son. I have only one account on the console which is mine, this was done so it would be easier to track his usage.

I need help setting the new feature up but it seems that it can only be done by creating my son his own email address which I assume would create another user account on the console. That would mean that he would lose all of his progress, game save and
    friends.

Why can we not have the old xbox360 settings? Why does microsoft have to make everything so complicated? I dont need something that will limit his account screen time because he would just jump to my account I need something that will turn the console
off after a pre determind time, is it that hard?

I am not holding my breath for a reply but it would be nice!!!

    :)

    PTMQ,

The best section for a feature like this may be our
    Home, Xbox Guide, and Settings
section. However, I am happy to share that shortly after your post was made, a family timer feature was introduced! Parents who have child accounts can now set screen time limitations through our
Microsoft Family page. Be sure to be signed into the parent account to set those limitations.

    Hope this helps.

[...]I had to create an email account for my son to do this. Why can't you just use his gametag name to identify him? So it didn't work and trouble shooting said something about having him sign in with his account?? But when he signs in, it only
asks for his password, not an email address. How do I get this to work????
    What console are you using?

The reason why your son needs his own e-mail address is, because the system is based on a person's Microsoft Account. By having the settings on the Microsoft Account, the screen time limits are enforced on EVERY device your son signs in, be it his own Xbox
console, a Windows 10 PC, his friends console where he goes to visit and so on.

By having the parental settings applied to his Microsoft Account email, these settings roam with your kid wherever he signs in to use the device.

This page here explains how to properly add an account to a Xbox One console.

Make sure your son's account was added to your own parent account. You can check that, by signing in with YOUR parent account on
