    I'm gonna jump in here.

Yes screen tearing does exist. on the xbox one as well as every platform, PC and PS4 included. Its been shown in several videos. The thing is, it only last for a split second or 2 and honestly i've never noticed it in game even when there. too busy actually
playing. I know titanfall has it. I've seen the pics and vids, but honestly in my 80+ hours in the game, I can't say I've noticed it 1st hand once.

Wasn't the OP having this rant in this thread here?

    forums.xbox.com/.../1744914.aspx

Most of the rest of us don't have such bad screen tearing in that thread and also don't have such bad screen tearing in this thread either.

You might want to look at getting a new Monitor, since we're all using the same XBox ONE devices and we're all playing the same "Titanfall" discs.

Our Monitors / Televisions are really the only variable in the equation.

Even one of the Forum Moderators has told you he has a completely different experience than you.

Do you think he's telling us the truth or lying to protect the XBox?

Just as a FYI screen tearing becomes more apparent also depending on the connection, I notice it a lot more when I have 2 bar connections versus 4 bars, I never get 5 bars for whatever reason.

I can cause it to happen in "Titanfall" if I jerk my thumbstick up and down really quickly just in the pre-mission warm up on the drop ships before they jump.

But you really have to jerk it.

And it's not an issue looking around normally, even quickly, and none existant in the matches as well.

Just to throw my 02 in.

I might be able to explain why the tearing shows up on @Sigma's Youtube video. Yes, he has a point that the video is captured by the X1's hardware, which in essence, could be hooked up to any display. The reasoning that 'the display has absolutely nothing
to do with it' however, simply can't be ruled out. Why? Because of a comment made (not sure by whom and don't even think it's in this thread) about setting your display resolution to 720p rather than 1080p got me thinking.

Even though the X1's hardware is outputting a video signal that isn't even displayed on the TV in question (and yet the tearing is still there even on the Youtube video), it is still outputting a signal that is adjusted to conform to the needs of the display
it is currently attatched to. Therefore, even on that video, the display his X1 is attached to is still part of the equation. You can't simply say 'the TV has nothing to do with it' as that would be inaccurate.

Following that to it's natural conclusion, those saying 'the TV is the only variable and must be the thing to blame' may only be slightly more accurate... but not completely. Did we all go buy a brand new TV just for our X1? I certainly didn't. How many
have complained about multiple games screen tearing on their 360? Again, I certainly didn't... but I sure do have it now with TF (can't speak for SM2).

Taking that into consideration, I can draw my conclusion based on the fact that the 360 worked on my TV, pretty much flawlessly in regards to display behavior. On the X1, not so much. Also, just to put it out there, my TV is a Sony Bravia 40" that is probably
less than 4 years old and yes, I use Game Mode. Maybe not the best TV out there, but certainly not the worst by any stretch.

So to bottom line it; As a consumer with a fairly recent TV for my gaming setup, I could not... nor should I need to... care less why the problem happens. It simply is a problem that (albeit I agree it's minor) considering all the facts/information I have,
shouldn't occur. If it was an older TV that I knew was getting dated, it would be different, but to tell people to replace their TV/monitor because of this is just plain silly.

  9. I'm not sure if this is related to this discussion but from what I understand from playing a few PC titles here and there, screen tearing can occur when the GPU is sending a signal faster than what your monitor or t.v. can display (60 Hz is the standard
in the US I believe). That causes the picture to distort (examples shown in the OP's post). Usually for PC games they have a v-synch option that keeps the GPU at the same pace as the refresh rate of your display (sometimes this could cause input lag which
makes things worse Screen tearing proof for the naysayers - direct Game DVR recording from the Xbox One :(). Respawn is going to have to patch the game for this to be fixed and maybe lock the framerate if that is causing the problem. I think I remember reading somewhere that the PS4 had this problem with Call of Duty: Ghosts.

  10. Still do not notice screen tearing while I am playing my games. Just because it's there, doesn't mean it's a problem. You have to really sit there and be looking for things to nit pick about to come up with something like this to complain about.

When I am playing my games, I am focused on my game. I am enjoying my game. I am not looking for stupid *** like screen tearing and guess what? I don't notice it.

  11. There are a lot of factors that go into who sees it or not. Most of the time I don't notice, however, the other day I was playing Warface on the 360, that game has horrible graphics, anyway, when we were fed up with the servers on that fame we switched to
Titanfall on XB1, and the very first game I noticed some tearing. I chalk it up to my eyes adjusting to the cleaner graphics and smoother game play. After that one starter match I never noticed again.

"You can't simply say 'the TV has nothing to do with it' as that would be inaccurate."

No, it wouldn't. Not really. What you're talking about are the video output settings, which is a choice of 720p or 1080p. Titanfall tears to the same degree regardless of which setting you choose, because it's the game engine and adaptive V-Sync that is
making the game tear, then that output passes through the Xbox One's scaler chip and out to your TV or monitor.

Despite the protestations of some people who clearly don't understand any of this, Titanfall tears with regularity, as does Trials Fusion. Both of those issues have been mentioned in various reviews and tech analysis articles (ones from people who know better
than to say "get a new TV!").
