    Hello,

    I've had my Xbox One for about 2 months, but I've noticed a problem that keeps occurring randomly.

    Often, horizontal lines keep flashing on the screen, like screen tearing in a game. However, this happens not just in games but also on the dashboard and in other apps. The last time it occurred, I had just turned my X1 on after not using it for a few
    days and it started flashing the lines right away.

    This video is from someone else but my problem looks similar.



    I originally thought it might have been the HDMI cable that came with the console. so I swapped that with another cable. The problem went away for a while, but started coming back randomly. So, I don't think it's the HDMI cable.

    right now, I'm testing my console on a different port on my TV. but I notice that it seems to occur more often when I had the X1 plugged into a port labeled "HDMI/DVI." Do you think that has any bearing?

    Has anyone else experienced this? Or know a way to fix this?

    I've also tried hard resetting. and while the problem went away for a while, it's started to come back.

    ^ Haha, nah man none taken.

    What? The screen tear on the 360 is horrendous, you must play with your eyes closed or have the only copy in the world that doesn't have tearing.

    Hey there! I have found a few things for you to check. First, make sure your TV resolution is set to 1080p. If you are still experiencing this with the other port, I would do another hard reset, but while it is off, unplug the power cord and HDMI cord from
    the console for 5 minutes.

    Hi KenH2k4,

    Thank you very much for your suggestions! I will try those out and see if they fix the problem.

    I also noticed that I had my power unit plugged into a power strip, so I plugged it directly into a wall outlet. I wonder if that had something to do with my problem.

    Microsoft does suggest that you plug the console directly into the wall because some power strips can't provide enough power, so it is possible that could be causing it.

    Hello

    Yes I am having this problem too. I have a Xbox 360 black elite which is was bought used but works fine every other way. I get the screen tearing on my dashboard when I pop up my small Xbox windows especially when it goes from big to small or small to big.
    I have a full HD 1080p monitor running the display of the console so I want to. Know why it does that. It's so annoying the console works so good then there's just that lil tearing that's really ticking me off. Is it just a console display frame rate issue
    or a dashboard menu error?
