    Screen is blank.


    So I'll include how this started, it started with the issue of the screen being dim on startup, and I found a semi-helpful looking forum post, it told me to unplug all a=cables, i did so and left for about 5 minutes as instructed, then i plugged them all
    in correctly, and now after booting it up, the screen is blank! I found a semi-helpful looking forum post on how to fix this, it said to hold the power and eject button after holding the power for 5 seconds and ejecting media. This did not work, so I did more
    stuff as told to do, which includes, using a different HDMI cable, switching ends of the HDMI cable. Anything would be helpful, thanks!

    oh ok. my polaroid tv doesn't seem to recognise the hdmi input either. maybe contact panasonic.

    Do you get a green screen before it turns black, or the second you turn the console on it goes black?

    I did not get a green screen, but know it's hooked up correctly, because if the xbox is not on, a No Source box shows up, but if it is on, the box disappears.

    Does your controller connect to the console while it's on this screen? If so wait about 2 minutes and try to navigate with your controller and see if you can hear the sounds of you navigating around the dashboard. This will let us know if the console is
    not powering up at all, or if just the video has cut out for some reason.

    My controller does connect, but it does not make any noise, even when I waited.

    Please try the following steps:

    1. Go to settings / blu ray and erase the permanent storage.

    2. Perform a system cache reset. Keep the powerbutton for about 15 seconds. Keep it holding even when the one turns off. Wait for the power supply to change the color to orange and then restart the console.

    Check if that solves your problem or if it occurs again.

    its the hdmi cable that im having trouble with which doesnt have a switch. do you mean the switch thats on the older cable what comes with the xbox? thanks
