Screen flickering when gaming and Netflix after upgrade to 4K/ Dolby Atmos not working

I recently upgraded to a 4k sony 75 inch x900f with the sony htz9f soundbar w/wireless sub and rear speakers to use with my xbox one x. I am using all high hdmi cables on each device. The current set up is a hdmi running from arc input on tv to arc input
on soundbar. I have my cable tv provider as xfinity comcast that i running through the xbox one x via hdmi out on the cable box to the hdmi cable/sat input on the xbox one x. Lastly, i have another hdmi running out of the xbox one x into hdmi #2 on the tv
which is the best inout according to the booklet and everything i read online. I have updated all the settings on the tv and the xbox to proper settings where i receive all green checkmarks on the 4k details setup screen on the xbox.

Also i am unable to change the setting to dolby atmos even though all devices are compatible.when i was the cable box its fine, no flcikering. When i switch over to game or watch netflix the flickering starts and its consistent. I’ve read a bunch of troubleshooting
steps, spoke to microsoft and nothing seems to resolve the issues. Microsoft suggested a factory reset but thats the last thing i want to do. Well second last because i dont want to return the tv and soundbar either.

I know others experienced similiar issue so i was wondering if anyone knows how to fix both or either issue. Thanks

Xbox One X 4k Blu Ray Won't Play Dolby Atmos

My Xbox One X will not play Dolby Atmos when using a Blu Ray disk, but Dolby Atmos games and the Dolby Atmos app work fine.

I recently purchased "Coco" on 4k Blu Ray and it will pass a Dolby Atmos signal to my Onkyo TX-RZ900. My receiver is Atmos capable, and works fine with Atmos games such as Gears of War or the Dolby Atmos app.

I have tried changing every setting I think of and clear the blu ray cache, and still nothing.

Atmos Problem

I have a problem with Atmos. When the X1X is set up to output Dolby Atmos through my Denon AV receiver all Atmos titles from Blu-ray movies to Netflix work perfectly but everything else that isn’t Atmos is output as the lesser Dolby Surround even
titles that are Dolby Digital (which are most games and Blu-ray movies) are reduced to Dolby Surround, all Netflix titles that are DD5.1 are also reduced to Dolby Surround, however once I turn off Atmos in the X1X settings I get Dolby Digital displayed from
the other sources again on the Denon. Seems like Atmos is blocking Dolby Digital. Very annoying to keep changing settings depending on the content.

Thanks for reaching out to the forums with this situation. I understand you're having a bit of an issue playing 4k and Dolby ATMOS off of your Xbox One is that correct? You may want to contact the manufacturer of your Television to find out if they have
more information about their products compatibility. Take a look at these helpful support articles: Troubleshooting 4K and HDR on Xbox

I would also suggest a restore to factory defaults but start off with "Keep My Games & Apps" option. That way you don't have to erase you're games or apps. (keep in mind you will need your Microsoft account email and password to recover your profile after

I have a Samsung Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos. All works fine on the Xbox One X with Netflix, Amazon Prime, gaming and the Dolby Atmos app. Doesn't work with the Disney Plus app though. Sound isn't coming through the rear speakers and sounds very ordinary.
I go and do the Atmos tests and demos on the Dolby Atmos Xbox app and they work and sound awesome.

I've googled around and apparently lots of people are having the same issue with the app. Hope they fix it soon as I was planning on watching the Star Wars trilogy in 4K and Atmos. I'll wait until they fix it.

I have the same problem on Xbox X and XBox One. I’m using the Denon AVR-X 2700H 7.2 channel Dolby Atmos receiver with the XBox X, and the Yamaha RXV-6A 7.2 channel Dolby Atmos receiver with the Xbox One. Both receivers were working normally outputting Atmos on Netflix until November 2022. Disney+ and Amazon Prime play Atmos content on both devices without issue, hence indicating that the problem is not with the 4K TV and 4K projector, nor receivers.

I have the same problem like you. I have an Xbox One X connected through HDMI cable to an Onkyo amplituner 7.1 which is capable to decode Dolby Atmos & DTS X.

I have installed Dolby app on my Xbox to get Dolby atmos sound and the result was that I have on all the games no matter if these are with sound in Dolby Atmos or not only in Dolby Atmos.

Is very strange to get that. I have supposed that when I buy a game with sound in Dolby Digital 5.1 to have Dolby Digital 5.1 and when I buy games in Dolby Atmos to get Dolby Atmos in my amplituner Onkyo.

The same problem I have with all the movies from Netflix. I installed the Netflix app on my Xbox One X and now all the movies I see have sound in Dolby Atmos, even if in the name of the movie on Netflix it is said the sound is recorded only in Dolby Digital
5.1.

What to do in that situation ?......I have tried every settings on my Xbox without any result.......When I put settings on output sound in Xbox everything I played is all in Atmos.

Like you said: "We don't need everything to be upscaled to Atmos, we just want Atmos to work on stuff that is Atmos as it should!"
