    Screen Dims When Accessing Xbox Menu


    I apologize if there's already a post for this, but I couldn't find anything.

    Whenever I press the Xbox button to access the menu, my screen dims. When I press it again, the screen brightens. However, the menu does not open. I can't get back to the home screen unless I restart my console. When at the home screen, if I go up to my
    profile avatar to try accessing it that way, the same thing happens: I press it and the screen dims, I press again and it lightens up. I can't access my settings, friends, messages, nothing.

    Any tips on how to fix this? Thank you!

    Can’t access “sidebar settings”

    and when i scroll over to my login at top left the screen dims and no menu shows

    No access to setting on xbox one console, ME 3 crashes system also

    I'm having the exact same issue. When I hit the Xbox button, the screen dims and the menu noise happens, but no menu.

    I've gone through the all the troubleshooting like hard resetting, but it happen consistently.

    yeah same issue.. and i contacted tech support and they tried patronizing me and telling me myxbox was broke

    so basically after contacting an Xbox ambassador they recommended, I hold the power button for 15 seconds to fully power the Xbox down. See if this works for you.

    Same issue here, dimming of the screen.. okay, power cycling the system seems to work for now, but does anyone know what causes this?

    Mines the same. After reading this thread (thanks Guys!) I solved mine by switching off the console normally, then removing the power cord for a minute. It took ages to log on again when powering up, but when it was there all was back to normal! Thank feck
    for that!

    I seemed to get this fault once I signed into the Windows 10 xbox app for the first time. When Isaw what was going on on my console I tried removing the app, but the problem didn't go away until I did the above. I'm wondering if it's something to do with
    intergrating with the xbox app on Windows 10..?
