Screen dims/lack of home screen

Discus and support Screen dims/lack of home screen in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I noticed a day or so ago with my Xbox one, when I press the Xbox logo button on the controller it dims out.     I noticed a day or so ago with my Xbox one, when I press the Xbox logo button on the controller it dims out. It doesn't bring up the menu or anything. The first one is okay the second one where it is dimmed and blurred somewhat is when I press down on the

    Home Button Not Working

    My home button no longer brings up the side panel on the screen or brings me to the home screen. It will turn the console on and off, but now when I press it as I normally would to bring up that panel (to access my friends or avatar), it merely dims the
    screen. Also, selecting my profile button on the home screen only dims the screen.

    Home button not giving me snap tab

    When i press the home button, rather than bringing up the bar or anything, the screen just gets dim until i press the home button again, returning me to my game. I cant change games or access my home screen without turning off the xbox, and even when i click
    my profile on the top left of the home screen it just dims also. High contrast was already off for me, and i can only access settings by going jnto my apps. any ideas?

    Hi

    Can you try a full console restart by pressing and holding the power button on the front of the console for 5-10 seconds and once the console has shut down I would personally also remove the power cable from the wall outlet for 2 minutes. After this power
    the console back on and hopefully everything should now be working correctly.

    Hi I was experiencing the same thing after switching out my controller with my brother's and then back again. The screen would dim and i could get the power/narrator/magnifier if i kept holding it, but the guide would never appear. I was having to restart
    the console if I wanted to use a different game/app. I did exactly what you recommended including the power cord out of the wall and it looks like that fixed it. It took me a little bit to find this thread so wanted to at least post my results/thanks since
    the OP didn't.

    Okay I'm not sure exactly what happened. But I tried posting something already here and it doesn't look like I can see it anymore. It might just be a browser issue of mine but just in case I'll try again. I was having the same problem after switching out
    my controller with my brothers and then back again. I did the hard reset and also unplugged it from the wall for the 2 minutes and it seems to be fixed and working now. Just in case anybody else is having this problem too, I just wanted to post my results
    after trying that.

    Xbox logo causing burn in

    The logo is not just present for the UI or home screen. It appears to be there for all MS Xbox apps. For instance if you watch a movie on Xbox Video the Logo is present. As a result I already have the logo "ghost". So until there is an option to remove
    or dim this logo I will not be using any Xbox Apps and skipping through the home screen straight to the games!

    Note, I have a very modern screen with screen burn protection!
