Screen Dimming on Start-up

My Xbox One just started this 3 days ago. When I turn on the Xbox the screen is very dim. in order to for it to return to normal working order I have to reboot it.

Before you even say to do a Hard Reset I have already done a hard reset and it fixes the problem until the next power on. Yes, the HDMI is secure. If you are going to post the basic guide for Hard Reset and to check my HDMI cable don't. It DOES NOT work.

Edit: And of course this started happening not 3 days after the warranty expired.

Screen dimming during games

Hello, I am pointing out an issue with the screen dimming feature on Xbox One.

When trying to play Fibbage, a game which doesn't require controller input as it uses a browser to answer questions, the screen keeps dimming unless you fondle the controller to keep the console happy it knows you are there.

I believe there used to be an option to disable the dimming feature on Xbox 360, but of course there isn't one on the Xbox One.

 

Its not just you, its started happening to me as well a few days ago. I did a google search and this problem came up last year around august and october. There was 3 pages of people posting in the thread on the xbox forums about and all i saw was 2 posts
from microsoft saying the basic powerdown and unplug thing they always say. =/ so i dont know if the issue was ever resolved for those folks.

Hard reset isn't fixing it for me anymore. any other ways to fix it? It's so dim I can hardly see anything.

 

Same problem here, this just started in the past few days.

 

New hdmi cord fixed it until the xbox was put into standby. Now it's dimmed again.

Sorry to hear about the screen dimming issue! Follow each of these steps below to troubleshoot the issue:

• Press and hold the power button on the Xbox One console for 10 seconds, or until the Xbox fully powers off.
  
• Once the Xbox One has powered off, unplug the power adapter from the wall outlet and console for 5 minutes.
  
• After 5 minutes, plug the power adapter back into the wall outlet and the Xbox One console and then power on. (Verify that the power is plugged directly into the wall socket and not a surge protector).
  

If the issue persists after following the steps above, the next step will be to

Restore the Xbox One to Factory Defaults. Follow that link on how to do that!

If you continue to experience this issue after following the steps above, the Xbox One console may need to be repaired. To begin that process, visit our

Mine has been doing the same thing. Will try the unplug fix. Already did a factory reset.
