Screen dimming issue with 4k/hdr

I have an Xbox series X and an LG gaming monitor which have always worked great.

Recently, I did a reset on the Xbox to clear the cache. Since then, every time I log into a game, it is super dim and I can barely see. To fix this, I have to turn the screen off and back on, and then it is regular brightness. But each time I exit and return to a game, or go to a new game, it is dim and I have to power cycle the screen again.

This was never an issue before the reset. I have checked all the settings on both the monitor and my Xbox and all seem normal.

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
