    So Microsoft tells everyone to do that no matter what the problem is. The reality is that this has been happening to a lot of people and was most likely caused by the last xbox update. This is something that will be addressed in the next update hopefully.
    I have the same problem as well. For now just turn off and back on the xbox no need to follow the advice written above. You should be good to go. And hopefully this will be addressed in the next xbox update.

    I have the same issue super annoying i tried unplugging it several times it might work for a day or two but then its back to the same thing its has to be with that update. Also i have insta-on enabled

    I am still getting this. Everytime I turn the xbox on it starts dim. Turn it off and then back on and everything is normal. Wtf???

    Confirmed Mister Quimby's technique does work. I tried it Friday morning and I haven't had the issue since.

    I know this is a bad thing to say, but I'm kind of happy that it's happening to others..

    My Xbox one has been sent to Germany twice now and I'm really glad that I don't have to send it a third time..

    But it is annoying, as everytime I have to turn it the Xbox off via the main switch I have renter all my internet codes and such..

    Let's hope it's sorted in the next update..

    Hey everyone!

    Sorry to hear about the dim screen issues, I can definitely understand how frustrating that could be. If you haven't already, I recommend trying a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can get this issue sorted.

    Please give the following steps a try:



    • Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 10 seconds.
    • Once your console is powered off, unplug the power cord and your HDMI cable.
    • Wait 5 minutes and then plug in your console.
    • Plug in the HDMI cable and make sure that the HDMI cable connection to your console is secure.
    • Power on your console and check to see if the issue continues.
    Give the suggested steps a try and if the issue continues to occur, please let us know. Thanks!

    Ive experienced for the first time twice in two days AFTER I purchased and connected the stand alone Kinnect(yes I know lol) thought it might be related to that. Clears up when i shut down and turn back on
