screen dim after update

The screen keeps dimming when I'm streaming films from my pc this only started after this weekends update is there any way to stop it? Its making it impossible to watch anything on my xbox one.

I cast to the xbox one from my pc via wifi it's running on windows 10. The screen dims until I press something on the controller, so its acting like the system is running idle

HBO Now issues

My HBO NOW app will dim the screen after watching a movie/episode for 10 minutes or so, and I have to move the joystick or press on the controller to get it to not dim. This only started after the last update. Please fix

 

Also having this issue. Along with severe lag throughout the console.

 

Common problem since NXOE, particularly with consoles with the Kinect sensor enabled. I think it is an OS issue since the problem started with the NXOE update.

Some have done hard resets, factory resets which may/may not solve the issue (I have posted about this several times and reported it to MS). I don't know if this is limited to consoles with the Kinect sensor or those without the sensor also have it.

I have not tried disabling and unplugging the sensor completely when videos are played (this also affects any video streaming app), but if it is the case where it only does it with the Kinect enabled and active, the only cause is the Kinect driver package
in the OS is faulty and MS has to redo that part of the OS completely.

Ever since the NXOE update, the Kinect has had major problems with its operation on many levels, I have noted this issue here several times and think the Kinect driver package and use is the main issue, where hard resets and factory resets don't solve the
problem.

I would like to know if this issue exists without the Kinect.

 

Hi GrinningBread92 I don't have the Kinect sensor so its got to be something else

 

I am having similar problems which is then causing my Kinect to fail.

If i leave the system alone, untouched for a period of time then the screen dims (as expected) to prevent damage to the screen etc however the Kinect sensor goes to sleep (powers down) and does not wake up again when i turn on the controller and navigate
the console again.

The Kinect becomes completely powered down and dead, and the system does not recognise it so i have to unplug it and plug it back in again to make it power on again.

SO ANNOYING!

I basically lose all voice commands until i unplug and re-connect the Kinect.

It's definately an issue with the NXOE last update (preview program) because it does the same with a friends Kinect plugged in to my console.

Apparently, the issue itself is within NXOE, where the activity feed for keeping the system awake is only by the controller. I noticed if a remote access is made, it still sleeps after a few minutes.

 

This is happening to me also, Ironically the October 2015 update supposedly had a fix for this. It's January 21st 2016 and still an issue, a really annoying one. I'd also like to add that streaming to xbox one from PC has gotten more and more difficult as
I've installed "better" versions of windows. Windows 7 streamed perfectly, 8.1 started having connection issues every so often, and now with windows 10 I HAVE to restart both the PC and xbox one (sometimes twice on Xbox one) to get it to stream at all. And
even then ii'll get sound on the screen with the "connecting" loading circle being the only thing shown on screen until I X out of the cast to device box on pc and re-cast to xbox one. I shouldn't have to downgrade to windows 7 for a feature to work as intended.
