    So I have been playing Halo on my Xbox series x recently and sporadically when I start my console HDR seems to pitch a fit. Turning HDR off and on doesn't fix the issue. Quick resume doesn't seem to be the issue as halo doesn't work with quick resume ( lol first part networking issue with quick resume what a joke) as I am forced to restart the app every time. (could be a wifi issue, will test hard wired later). After starting the app fresh every time I sometimes get a super washed out IN-GAME screen. This does not transfer to the Xbox home screen.

    and never alleviates the issue of washed-out colors.

    Hardware includes
    - Gigabyte M28U (has HDMI 2.1) on the latest firmware (F07)
    - The original HDMI cable that came with the Xbox
    - Xbox Series x

    Does anyone else get this issue? I have tried multiple games that support HDR and it's the same issue. I have also calibrated my monitor using the Xbox to the HDR standards.

    Xbox One S HDR Bug

    Add me to the list. I have a Vizio M55-D0, firing up Netflix causes washed out colors and is system wide until Netflix is exited out of. Even when playing an HDR title (Marco Polo) HDR isn't turning on and the colors are still washed out. Using SmartCast
    HDR works just fine with Netflix.

    I have the same issue with my sony X850e - it's really ****, Netflix doesn't care - I've talked to their support many times. Everything works great on my One X and my TV except for Netflix. Boots up and the entire App is HDR - dark, gray, and washed-out
    colors. If I disable HDR on my tv or xbox and reset the app it looks/works fine.

    I have the same issue but it happens with anything HDR including Forza Horizon 3. When content with HDR enabled kicks in the Xbox flashes black and then auto dims until the app that is using HDR is closed. It really sucks because it washes out the colors.
    The Netflix app on my TV with HDR doesn't do this so it rules out my TV as the issue. What's going on?

    Thank you for your answer, but I think you did not understand my question. To sum up: 4k doesn't matter.

    The problem is that hdr blu-rays work fine on ps5 (good colors).

    So the HDR to SDR conversion is correct. But on xbox series x, in comparison with ps5, the picture is too dark.

    So the HDR to SDR conversion on the xbox series x is bugged. I don't think it's a washout color issue.

    Hdr washed out colors and dimmer during hdr content

    I have this problem on my Samsung 65" KS9000. I will get a message from the TV that HDR content is playing and then the video goes dull/washed out. The TV video settings themselves haven't changed. If I view the TV menu or open an app on the TV, color
    is normal. When I minimize GOW4 or Netflix, the Xbox dashboard is dull and washed out. If I open a non HDR Xbox app like Youtube, colors will go back to normal. Go back into Gears of War 4, Netflix or the Bluray player, video goes bad. Even adjusting in
    game brightness/HDR and the TV settings will not help because the color is so bad.
