Screen brightness very low when turning system on

I had this problem as well, and found a relatively easy solution, but can't promise it will work. All I did was turn on the Xbox (Then off and back on again to get the screen bright), and then let the Xbox sit until the controller turned itself off, and
the screen dimmed. Once you turn the controller back on, it will brighten once again, and from then on, I had no issues with the screen remaining dim when I turned the Xbox on.

 

Also experiencing this issue... Not a big deal since it's fine after restart just annoying having to boot then reboot just to use my Xbox. Start after last update

Please give the following troubleshooting steps a try:

• Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 10 seconds.
• Once your console is powered off, unplug the power cord.
• Wait 5 minutes and then plug in your console.
• Power on your console and check to see if the issue is continuing to occur.

Post back your results! We've had success with users doing these steps in this specific order. If you are still having issues, please try these last few steps:

• If your screen is still dimmed, try using a different HDMI cable if possible.
  
• You can also try plugging your HDMI cable into a different HDMI port on your TV.
  
• Lastly, try your console on another TV if you are able to.
