screen blank

Last night halo kept getting stuck then dash became unresponsive. Now when i switch on the console the green xbox logo screen pops up for 15 secs the sound plays then olny a black screen. I have tried power cycling unplugging the brick etc to no avail. whats
my next step??

oh ok. my polaroid tv doesn't seem to recognise the hdmi input either. maybe contact panasonic.

its the hdmi cable that im having trouble with which doesnt have a switch. do you mean the switch thats on the older cable what comes with the xbox? thanks

 

I know this sounds like a stretch but try a different HDMI cable or component connection to the TV. Cable might have been going bad and it finally gave up. Also try a different HDMI port. If non of that works try hooking the XBox up with a component cable
and if it works that tells me that the board controlling your HDMI ports has gone bad and your HDMI ports are shot in the TV.

 

Reset your display settings. Here's how:

If there’s a disc in the Xbox One console, eject it.

On the console, press and hold the Xbox button for five seconds to turn off the console.

Press and hold the Xbox button and the Eject button until you hear a beep to turn on the console.

Note This will boot your console in a low resolution mode (640 × 480). To reset these settings again, press the Menu button, select Settings, and then select Display & sound.

Freak it didn't turn on last time but here it goes and..... Gah still messing up.
