Scratched Xbox One Kinect, need some advice on possible repair.

Purchased an Xbox one, love it to bits but the one problem I have is that there is a Giant scratch on the top of the Kinect running right down the middle. I just payed £400 for this so I don't exactly want it to be worn before I've used it. This isn't a
complaint thread I just want to know if anybody else has had an issue with this and whether or not they have any solutions for making it a little more presentable, I've got no idea if it's even possible to remove a scratch from plastic.

Any help would be fantastic!

Old and needs repair

I am not sure if this is possible, but take your console to Play n Trade. See if they can estimate a repair cost, or even buy it from you. If they buy the console, you can use the money for a new console.Click to expand...

Good advice here. You can then buy a new and better Xbox 360 after disposing the old one. As for the problem, maybe the scratches from the discs affect the reading of the Xbox.

Hi,

I'd like know if it is possible to connect Kinect for Windows v2 to my Xbox 360? Maybe I need some adapter? Could you give me some advice?

Did you buy it at a store? If so I would return the Xbox to them to exchange it.

As mentioned above, if bought from a retailer, ask them for a replacement. Otherwise call support and talk to them about how to proceed forward.

The Advanced exchange you set up is a fairly standard process. The way it works is they send the request to the service center, who processes the order within 2-3 days. After they process it they should have sent you a confirmation email that it has been
sent with the tracking number for the new unit, which should be to you within 3-5 days from that point.

If you haven't gotten that email after all this time then you may want to call tech support, 800-4-MYXBOX, and talk to a hard ware agent to track the ticket for you.

The "charge" you would typically get hit with is a Pre-Auth they put on your acct as an assurance they get the old unit back. It should only be coming up on your acct as a "Pending Charge" at the absolute most. And you definitely shouldn't be "charged"
anything as you haven't received anything yet. The return clock is 14 days from the point you receive the new unit. I.e. - if you haven't received anything then the clock isn't running, and your not getting charged. But the Pre-Auth may still be there.

If you did in fact get charged though, then they may have to create an escalation ticket for you to get that refunded. The Customer Care Advocacy group handles things like that and they work primarily through email.

Thanks for the reply Bigben. My issue is that I set up the advance exchange two weeks ago and they still haven't shipped the replacement. I have called support over and over and they keep telling me to wait. There has to be a way to escalate this.

No.

Some game shops offer a disc repair service so you would need to find one that does.

It's usually cheap but if the scratch is deep it may not work.
