scratched off the numbers on a prepaid card

Umm, never mind. I was just barely able to see all but one character, so I just went through the entire keyboard until I got it.

Yay! Now off to buy Slender: The Arrival so I can never sleep again!

I might suggest seeing if what is visible on the card and receipt can be used at the retailer to determine the code. I haven't had this happen with anything from Xbox, but with my prepaid phone card I once scratched out the number, but using another number
on the card, the cashier was able to contact their merchant support and retrieve the associated code.

I have exactly the same problem, my son scratched the silver panel off and scratched the first part of the code off, there is a bar code & number on the card so surely this can be retrieved???

If the back of the card hasn't been scratches off there is no reason the store shouldn't be able to do anything exchange. Honestly I would contact Shoprite corporate as they will likely side with you especially since MS said the exchange could be done.

Ms has to defer to.thr.retailer but it.is.still.upto.the store policy to decide if it can be exchanged or not as customary with prepaid cards as ms doesn't deal with retail cards

how does one "miss scratch" their gift card? Pleas enlighten me. Like you scratched it to where you rubbed the ink from the numbers off?
