You should go for the Scorpio.

Better graphics and frame rate, and you get to keep your game library.

I own my Xbox 360 slim console from when I got Xbox late 2010, and it's still going well.

I own a day 1 edition Xbox 1 with Kinect, and it's still going well.

I got a PS4 Pro just to play Final Fantasy XV with higher visual fidelity, as the Xbox 1 version is blurry, and A World of Final Fantasy which is not on Xbox.

I have a high end custom desktop which Goth Vampirella knows about, even though an AMD R10 666 and DDR8 RAM

And I quote from this funny expression she quoted found in this thread
won't be out for another 20 years, which will still outperform the Xbox Scorpio; which I play The Sims 4, Planet Coaster, and Cities Skylines; neither of those games are on console yet.
I can also play Xbox games on it too, so I don't really "need" an Xbox Scorpio as Microsoft has Xbox Play Anywhere.

I am considering getting Scorpio and trading in my day 1 edition Xbox 1 (but I'm keeping the Kinect) and PS4 Pro. But I'm waiting until Scorpio comes out and reviews and criticism come out for the released Scorpio. If it's running a 7200rpm 1970's record
player aka HDD the thing which looks like a record player and which my generation is not accustomed to ever using, I doubt if I'll get it any time soon. SSD's are far more better than HDD's. But for those not into PC gaming, think of it as a supped up Xbox
1 hardware revision as it will be able to play Xbox 1 games but with optimizations, which are down to the game developers discretion when to implement and how.

I'm actually fine with how games look already on Xbox 1. Kinect Sports Rivals, Forza Horizon 3 (though there are some frame drops), Minecraft Xbox 1 keeps prompting me if I want to turn on auto-save, when I manually save, which is annoying and something
which the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft doesn't do. Riptide Renegade looks good on Xbox 1, as well as Halo Wars 2 and Plants vs Zombies garden warfare 2.

Maybe they'll release a Scorpio SLIM, like they did with Xbox 1 and Xbox 360. Xbox 360 had like 2 slim revisions, an S, and a slimmer Xbox 360 E which looks more like an Xbox 1. But with Xbox Scorpio being a larger hardware revision of an Xbox 1, it may
end up looking like a mini desktop PC or a slightly bulkier Xbox 1 original, console. It will probably have the performance of an RX 480 or GTX 1060...maybe. But it most likely won't have the performance of a GTX 1080. But it will most likely not have the
computational power of an Intel Core i7-6700k 4-4.2Ghz processor. Even my AMD R9 390 will have a higher bandwidth than the 320GB/s bandwidth planned for Scorpio. I also have a Samsung EVO 850 1TB SSD (Samsung 5 year warranty) and HyperX SSD.

It's down to your tastes and financial situation if and when you get Scorpio. But who knows, Microsoft might surprise us.... They might put in a 500GB SSD for the OS and a 4Ghz AMD Ryzen CPU. PC is great as it has more games than consoles. But consoles offer
simplicity and great online features. Xbox 360 was the only 7th gen console which has Party Chat. Also avatars, voice and picture messaging. Have a look around, do some research before your buy, unless you don't want to do any of that. I remember when Xbox
1 came out November 2013, people were complaining 'I paid $xxx for this behemoth', it can't do half the XBL Features Xbox 360 can, no voice messages (youths like using this feature). It got so bad, Microsoft had to put up an official Xbox Feedback website
and 2 Policy Reversals (Kinect, 24-hr check-ins). But I think they'll do better planning this time. It won't have all the features which a gaming PC may have (SSD's, 4Ghz CPU, 16GB system RAM). k while you may not need 16GB RAM for gaming, in 5 years time,
it may be necessary esp. for 4k gaming, as modern games tend to get more resource demanding due to younger gamers these days wanting more.

However I might sell my PS4 Pro and original Xbox 1 (but keep my Kinect) for Scorpio. I don't really use PS4 Pro. It depends on (a) what it looks like is it the same size as original Xbox 1? (b) price. (c) what sort of CPU and GPU and how much RAM and if
it has an SSD or if the OS/boot at least runs on a flash/SSD drive HDD's take far too long to boot up an OS/machine. I would then be fine with installing games on conventional external HDD. My advice is wait until it comes out and for reviews to come out,
especially since the price will be expensive (couple hundred dollars, EB Games Australia and NZ listed a shareholder price of $999 and convert that to US/UK currency). I hypothesis Xbox Scorpio will have a price of around US$649 when it comes out. I think
a lot of people are eager to know what sort of hardware Xbox 1 will have. If Square Enix releases an optimization update for Xbox Scorpio for the Xbox 1 version of Final Fantasy XV, I'll sell my PS4 and original Xbox 1 console (but keep Kinect) so I can consolidate
my entertainment devices and shave a few hundred dollars off the full price of Scorpio. I won't be getting rid of being with Xbox though, I still like it very much. I admire how Microsoft manages Xbox and it has resulted in a brand which helps makes many happy
    during our free time.

Why do I talk about specs so much? Because specs generally matter for modern gaming. If specs didn't matter, Microsoft and Sony wouldn't be inclined to release hardware revision consoles so soon. A device which is faster so it wastes less of our fee time.
If you don't have Xbox 1 yet, you can get the Xbox 1S but I'd recommend waiting until Scorpio comes out later this year and for reviews to come out from Completed Scorpio.

It pays to do some research and look for reviews before rushing out and buying, especially for expensive devices. Perhaps wait until a few days after it comes out. Then you can compare if you can get a custom PC which can do better, for the same price. I
still play Xbox 360 because a lot of people still play on it, and Microsoft did a great job with that platform. A lot of people complained when Xbox 1 launched with (1) no voice messaging (2) can't change dash background (3) no external HDD support (4) no
Dolby sound, just Stereo Uncompressed (5) slow-as UI (they've already fixed this). Better graphics and framerate depend on if and when individual game developers release an optimization update for Xbox 1 version games running on Scorpio, since it should be
able to play Xbox 1 games Day 1. And frame rates for some games ARE capped on Xbox 1. I think an example of this is Halo 5, where the fps may be capped so that the game given the hardware, can still give out the wanted 1080p60fps. Or if the game developer
wants to just do a dedicated Scorpio version. What also may count is how fast it can boot up, since reviewers will be reviewing that, and since many people may make a big deal of that. So putting the OS/system or having a flash boot drive (flash/SSD, it doesn't
have to be a 1TB, just big enough for the system, say 400GB-ish. But a disadvantage to SSD's is performance may deteriorate after righting and reading a lot of data over a few years. Samsung offers a 5 year warranty of their EVO SSD's. Maybe give us a swappable
internal storage solution like what Xbox 360 has (you can swap 4/250GB HDD storages on Xbox 360 to a 500GB or 320GB with the slim version) and which Xbox 1 doesn't have. Perhaps have like a SATA3 HDD that way you can swap it for a SATA3 SSD. Just some ideas.
Or they could have a 16GB high quality flash drive which could act to make sure the swappable SATA3 storage option only runs official firmware from Microsoft. Because people do get feed up how long HDD's take to boot. And leaving your console on 24/7 isn't
environmentally friendly I think. K, it only uses minimal electricity on standby, but if you multiple that energy by if 200,000 people did that when playing Xbox, that's quite a bit of electricity. I could understand a fridge being left on 24/7. But it's down
    to everyone's different opinions.

SmileSkyBird, China rang, they want their wall back. Jk

I'm going with a Scorpio as well. I love tech and gadgets, but when it comes to PC I'm just like......eww.....go away.

I honestly wouldn't get a Scorpio unless you have a 4k tv, but that's just my opinion. I've been planning on getting one for a while now and definitely before this console comes out, but my wife just started kicking up a fuss about it. Maybe if I give her
a DDT and a missle dropkick she'll change her mind. She wants to save every cent for a house because we're sick of renting. I've already paid €400 towards a Scorpio though.

    Scorpio

    Hello Brandiesel1 Scorpio :)

Scorpio is up for consideration for me too, when it comes out later this year. If it is these things, I will trade in my original Xbox 1 (but keep Kinect) and PS4 Pro which will shave a couple hundred dollars off the full price:

    1. It needs to be able to boot up in under 50 seconds (needs a good 7200rpm HDD, or hybrid/flash/SSD)

    2. Square Enix to role out an update within Scorpio's launch period to be able to run Final Fantasy XV with optimizations.

    3. SATA3 swappable internal storage bay (swap for HDD/SDD), preferable. External HDD storage, plays all Xbox 1 titles day 1, voice messaging day 1, a not-sloppy UI, change dash background.

    4. Microsoft sets a max RRP of NZ$899 (....maybe NZ$949 but that would be pushing it) for Scorpio.

    5. Can use my turtle beach 500x stealth with it and have optical port cuz many higher end turtle beach headsets still use optical port.

    6. A CPU clock speed of at least 3Ghz, because clock speed and CPU performance, matters, especially for simulation games. The GPU looks like it will be a solid one, with 6TFLOPS and 320GB/s bandwidth.

    7. Same size as the original Xbox 1, maybe only slightly bigger. As people will be reviewing it's size too. It also helps for people in the UK or other countries who live in apartments or smaller houses/bedrooms where space is limited.

Last week I learnt in class the What, How, and Why. From this video title on YouTube: Start with why -- how great leaders inspire action | Simon Sinek | TEDxPugetSound. Why is Apple so successful and why do people keep buying their products? Because they
have philosophies and values and beliefs maybe, and know what attracts buyers. They aren't doing it all to be half hearted in their jobs and just for the pay and after 5 p.m. it's like screw this I'm off home. They make their devices (1) sleek (PS4 Pro achieves
this) (2) colourful (manufacturers are so obsessed with making things in Black, it isn't funny. Young people prefer other colours like white, gold, yellow, etc; without having to go to a 3rd party who makes colour shells or "skins". Microsoft has made some
effort by rolling out an Xbox 1S White console), and (3) I guess efficient and durable. Correlate this into the ideas I'd like for Xbox 1, and.... yea. I think Microsoft can learn from this too. They had to adjust their vision a few times (1) fixing the RROD
from Xbox 360 by improving the architecture in the slim model (2) listening to the mass amount of feedback (most of it was negative) when Xbox 1 launched or nearing it's launch, including 2 "policy reversals" and creating a dedicated official Xbox feedback
    site.

Have a nice day, afternoon or evening Scorpio :)

I really hope you can use your Kinect with the Scorpio. I love it for voice commands. It works much better than a standard mic.
