    Scorpio problems


    I made sure to preorder the Scorpio edition when it was available and could not wait to get it. I have been a long time XBOX user since the original and the nostalgic look had me hooked when it was announced. After going through setup i powered down and
    restarted as i always do with electronics. This is when the problem started . The console would make it to the splash screen and then shut off and would not power back on with the controller. The only way was to push the button on the console. I didn’t worry
    too much because it powered on and i continued to play ww2 for a few hours. The console was off for an hour or so when i decided to power back on just to see if everything was ok and to my dismay the problem was back. Splash screen , power off. Now I was
    worried. Being tired i went to bed hoping it just needed to be off for the night.

    The next day the first time i powered on it happened again. The Unit has been in my possession for less than a day total. Power on, power off, with an occasional successful boot. Now i was getting mad. Ended up spending an hour on chat with Microsoft
    ambassador with no help. He advisesed me that this should not be acceptable and to contact Microsoft, which i did. 2 hours of tech support and about 5 system resets later we decided that it might be an external hdd issue so it was agreed upon that i would
    try resetting again but with no external connected. Another system reset with fresh setup with no hdd attached at all. Power up and it powers down. So my options were to create a repair ticket and send my absolutely new Scorpio Edition in for repairs for
    god knows how long and to receive a new repaired unit back.... or contact my retailer and ask for a replacement which I did and was allowed to do. So now I had to pack it up and drive 20 minutes with my kids to exchange my LIMITED EDITION for a regular X.
    It works, no issues so far...very disappointed. Am i important enough for Microsoft the listen too and help out with getting the console that I wanted from the beginning? Absolutely not. Will Microsoft continue to collect live fees from me every month without
    any type of compensation for my troubles or time wasted or disappointment? Absolutely. Hopefully this console won’t give me issues or i might have to seriously reconsider who and what i choose to game with.

    Scorpio Problems

    I have heard that the Scorpio edition, for whatever reason, seemed to be more prone to many of the issues that you are mentioning. I just shipped my XBO (non-Scorpio model) to MS for repair after repeat E105 errors and ongoing corrupted save file problems.
    I think you're pretty spot on with the HDD diagnosis but I would suggest creating a case with the MS team so you can send it in for repair.

    My Xbox Scorpio is toast_ ?

    1. Game Installations & downloads randomly stop, disc and digital.

    This renders anything else on the console useless and errors pop up on restart.

    Cancel all and Pause go blank.

    Forced to restart, Hard Reset

    Over Time…

    2. Shutting the console off, Hard restarting, unplugging, all result in E101, 102, 105.. with varied digits afterwards. Iv had all the errors!

    3. A factory reset, with games, without games (x5 times)... results in a fresh machine having the same download, into errors, into struggling to shutdown, or start up.

    Tried Factory Reset from a USB, online, BIND eject method. All start the xbox up clean... for the vicious cycle to happen again. Scorpio problems :(

    All day Sat, Monday night, and Tuesday trying to resolve this. I think the HDD is on its way out. Which could suggest why the installs To the drive seem to be the main issue.

    It's gradually gotten worse over the past month… until now its pretty unusable!

    Can’t even Move games from HD to the console. It’s crippled.

    The issues of "installation paused" started with buying Gamepass! Those digital games were first to hit the “installation stopped” error.

    Sounds like xBox need to send me a brand new Scorpio (6 months old)! I don't want to lose my mint limited edition.

    Not pleased at all.

    Installation Stopped = Errors = Corruption = Factory Reset = RINSE & REPEAT_ aaghh

    Sorry to hear about your Scorpio having so many problems. If Xbox Support went through all the troubleshooting with you, and it was determined that a replacement was needed, then unfortunately that may be your only option. I would
    definitely contact the seller you purchased it from, and see if there are any exchange policies in place that would get you another Scorpio. If there are not, then going through device support may be your only option. If phone support didn't set you up a warranty
    exchange, then I would suggest following

    and getting one started. I wouldn't imagine the support center is going to take apart your Scorpio, find the issue, then part it back together again. It's much more likely that they'll just send you a new one.

    Thanks for the reply Hydo Skillet,

    I chose to exchange the defective Scorpio so i didnt have to wait again to play the new Xbox. Waiting for launch day was bad enough but having to send it off and wait again would’ve drove me nuts. I’ll just have to deal with my buddies trolling me with
    their Scorpio pics.
