    Schedule based parental controls


    Dear Microsoft,

    I would like to set a schedule based parental control on my Xbox One console. I am studying for a big exam in late March and I have to write and defend my dissertation on or before July 15th, but I play a lot of Xbox One. I want to be blocked from playing
    at specific times (10am-5pm weekdays and 1am-7am everyday) but understand there exists no way to do so currently (daily or weekly time limits are not ideal for me). I was encouraged by a support representative to suggest this in the forums (she provided a
    link, but I lost it so if this is in the wrong forum please advise). Please please please, consider adding this feature to a software update.

    Family timer

    The family timer is something that is console based, not account based, so no, you cannot manage it from your computer.

    xbox one download control

    There is no way to schedule downloads to start and stop, you'd have to do it manually. You can try the parental controls thing, but I'm not certain it would work.

    The parental controls on the console are system wide so that all profiles use the same controls. If it was profile based, kids could just sneak onto their parents' accounts and play age-inappropriate games.

    Parental controls I didn't set up.

    Contact hardware support specifically. They'll take your serial number and get you a reset code based off it to reset the parental controls.

    Unless I am mistaken the only thing that the birthday on the account is used for is automatic blocking based on ESRB rating. Beyond that, as a primary account you will be able to set access restrictions on any non primary account, regardless of the birthday
