    My whole point is nothing is ever stupid until it bites you in the butt, and then people are all over it like stink on phew as if they're incapable of such stoopid acts. Thing is, I've never met a man that wasn't a mistake prone dum @.

    @Truth, your exactly right, unfortunately now he needs it. No different then any other type of document required to return a product. If I pay interact for something, loose the receipt, Im SOL... my fault, no one else. This situation is a bit different
    since the OP paid for the item and it got lost in transition, but until it gets back from repair, he has nothing else to go on. Paperwork and a paper trail (literal) are still required.

    Wow that blows. Seems there should be some kind of paper trail you can follow to see what happened to it. Do a little investigating.
