Scalebound Release Date

So, I pre-ordered from Amazon. They currently have that deal where the games are cheaper for prime members and stuff and you can cancel any time and never be charged of course so no big deal. They had a placeholder date for December of this year but I
was thinking I remember reading something about an early 2017 release or something but cannot remember. Anyway, I received an email from Amazon a little bit ago and it said this (not the whole email):

"The release date for the video game listed below has been changed by the publisher.."

The new date listed, still could be a placeholder but they indicate the date was changed by the publisher, is January 1 2018. Thought that was a bit odd since that is a Monday amongst other things. Still Amazon's email indicates it is the publisher that
told them this. Not that it really matters. Anyone else see this?

I think Scalebound will get some gameplay and maybe a release date

Thats definately a placeholder date mate. I've read numerous times that its out 2017.

Guess we'll know more at E3.

 

Has anyone else watched the available videos? I was hoping for dark and difficult, not shiny and train your dragon. I mean it looks ok I guess, just very "pick up and play". It's a good thing it's taking a while.

 

I like what I've seen so far.It's something a bit different,especially for the xbox,although I can see the main character getting on my nerves after a bit.

No doubt we'll see something at E3.

Yeah, I am assuming it is still a placeholder. Just odd because the original placeholder was the typical December 30 date. 5 of my pre-orders say December 30, 2016 with Scalebound being December 30, 2017. Now they send that email stating:

"We have received new release date information related to your pre-ordered video game in the order you placed on January 12, 2016. The release date for the video game listed below has been changed by the publisher, and we want to provide you with a new delivery
estimate based on the new release date:

"Scalebound"

Estimated arrival date: January 01, 2018

Just odd since the placeholder date does not follow Amazon format as they always have put December 30 of some year in every pre-order I have ever done there that does not have a set release date. That, and they state the publisher told them of the new release
date. Every time I have received one of these emails, so far and the could be the exception, it was the publisher who told them and it came out as fact. That is why I basically have to wonder.

Also, I typically get my games a day early or same day as release from Amazon. Typically they come from the warehouse in my state and can ship Sunday and arrive Monday-Tuesday.

Really just seems odd. I had heard 2017 as well. But I could not remember if anything official was put out there. And then I get this and I just wondered if the publisher had actually told Amazon this.

I am just hoping for a cross-buy. I do play the One sometimes but am more in to playing PC right now. And I would love to have this be like Quantum Break, personally.

 

I've watched the gameplay video a lot. Something seems missing in my opinion. It looked sort of generic. I hope I'm wrong.

 

Personally I hope "Ninja Turtles" comes out a lot sooner than the advertised "December 2016" on the XBox Store.

Platinum makes amazing games.

"Scalebound" looks like an angry teen fantasy but then "Bayonetta" looked like it was from another planet and ended up being one of the greatest games on the XBox 360.

 

I hope they do a good job of this, its about the only exclusive I'm looking forward to at this point.
