Says I'm connected to XBL but cant play games or access store. Alternate MAC address issue.

This happens every 3 or 4 times I turn my Xbone on.

Have to clear the alternate MAC address every time to fix this. Its a real pain. Only started after the Nov 15 Windows 10 dash update.

Can I get a permanent fix please?

Hotel connection

I'm at a hotel trying to connect via wireless. I connected via my phone. Then logged off and put my phones MAC address in the xbox as an alternate mac but it still won't connect. Says it might be an ip error. Any tips?

need help opening my NAT

I'm having a similar issue in which i can connect to live, watch youtube and access the store but I can't play multiplayer within a game or access party chat. When i check my detailed NAT it says "there is a firewall(or it is not connected)" and when I check
my multiplayer connection it says it "can't get a Teredo IP address.

Try and remove your profile from the console , then shut everything down , when it's back up , download your profile back to the console....

If you are having issues connecting the game to Xbox live, try to access Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear

I tried this solution.

The first issue with this solution is that the store says "Installed." When I select the game, the only option is to "Launch Game" then I get "The person who bought this needs to sign in."

I cleared the alternative mac address (skeptically wondering what this had to do with the issue).

Issue not resolved.

I'm leaning towards the issue being a bug in the way xbox recognizes Halo Infinite mulitplayer as a free game and allows access to the accounts on the Xbox. I have no problem playing Apex Legends or any other free to play game.

Thanks for bringing this issue to us unfortunately this has to be addressed by the school IT department since the issue is the Consoles MAC address has to be given permission to access the network. Reach out to them and they should be able to assist in the
matter! Also try Clearing out the Network Card Cache (alternate MAC address) by following these steps:

To clear the alternate MAC

Settings

Network

Network settings

Advanced settings

Alternate MAC address

Select Clear and then Restart

Try go to Xbox Network Settings (under system settings). Go to Advanced Settings. Select Alternate MAC address and then Clear. This will clear your consoles IP settings back to default. Power cycle your console and you should be good to go.
