'Saved state' function of previously played game not working

Previously, ( a few months ago now) If i opened the same game that I have last played, it would instantly load to where I left off, meaning I would be into a game in seconds from console on. This even worked for huge games such as Fallout 4 or GTA V.

No however this function never works requiring full load times, and for the aforementioned games that means about 5 minutes loading till im actually in game.

Yes instant on is turned on.

However some games are on a separate hard drive.

Whats going on why is this not working anymore?, It was one of the best features on Xbox one.

There is, sadly, no option to change it - the forums here have not been updated yet to reflect the XB1 games you've recently played on your playercard to the left.

 

My experience with this has been spotty. Sometimes it seems to work fine and sometimes it doesn't. How you turn off the xbox might also make a difference. Whether you press the button on the front or use your controller.

Are you able to confirm if the games that you are currently experiencing this issue with are installed on your external storage device? It's possible your HDD isn't being powered while the Xbox One is powered down, leading to the game closing.

 

Some are, some aren't. However it is a uniform issue across all of the games.

The external hard drive has power, indicated by the little led, even when the console is off.

One of the problems is even if the console is still turned on every game restarts of I exit it.

Certainly odd that they're shutting down even while the console is still turned on. Have you possibly tried uninstalling and re-installing one of the titles that you experience this with? If not, try uninstalling one of the games and reinstalling to see
if there's any change.
