    Saved Games on multiple consoles


    I searched and could not find another topic on this. I have a xbox one with a 4tb external hard drive. I have a profile and my son has a profile. I am thinking about getting a Xbox One S for myself and then giving my son the xbox one. How will I get my saved
    games and things off the current xbox one and move them to the S?

    Will my external hard drive just plug into the S without having to do anything?

    Will my son still be able to access all his stuff on the xbox one? I know any games installed on the external drive will have to be reinstalled on the internal drive on the xbox one. From what I understand the game saves are stored online and not locally?

    Xbox games on multiple consoles

    I do the same thing. I have had multiple consoles in the past. One for my family (which gets the first downloads) and then one for me. That way there is no arguing.

    Regarding saved games and progresses. These stuffs would be stored to the console's local storage once the saving is done. Also, if your console was connected to the Internet, the game save would also go to your cloud. This means that you have two copies
    of your game saves - the local storage which is the console and the cloud.

    Therefore, if you are going to purchase an Xbox One S console, if you have a cloud save, which I believe you have, then just install your game to the new system, launch them and your saves would get synced from your cloud to your new console.

    Also when you have downloaded your profile all the save files and DLC's will be available trough the cloud.

    The only thing I can suggest is to make sure that the first account is signed out completely while the other accounts are trying to play.

    ensure your original GT is not on the other Xbox at all and hasn’t been. The save may be tied to that one from a previous time or something.
