Saved game? Nope. It's gone.

I've been playing Deus Ex Human Revolution (XBOX 360) off and on for the last couple of months. Last night I got back into it after a long break, had a great time, and saved the game before turning off the console.

This evening I opened up the game, ready to continue, and my only option was New Game. Oh, geez, I thought. I forgot to sign in. So I signed in. Still only option was New Game. I couldn't Load any previous saves. So I took out the disc, powered off the console,
turned it back on, re-inserted the disc. Still my only option was to start over from the very beginning. What?!!

Is this a backward compatibility issue? Along the way, I ended up changing my gamertag this evening (a task I'd been putting off), but that shouldn't affect my game, not according to anything I've read. Oh, and interestingly, I still have game achievements
from everything that I did in the game.

What happened to my game progress, and does anyone know of a way to get it back?

Nope. Once it's been removed, it's gone.

First place I'd check is your Games History. If you press the Guide button > Settings > Account Management > Download History see if they are listed in there, and if so go to that page and try to re-download/play them. That will likely lead you to what
you need, and will even list titles you've purchased that are no longer available on the store.
