Saved Data for games moving from one location on hard drive to another and updating game to...

    Hello,

I removed one drive from my computer but it looks like the saved data from my game pass games saved into this one drive location instead of my local drive on the computer. I did copy all my data from the one drive folder before it was removed. Now when I go back into the games to play my saved data is no longer there and makes me start over. How can I have the game pull from the new location on my local drive instead of the old location which no longer exists?

Thank you for your help on this I really don't want to start over after over 1000hrs on a game.

    :)

Saved Data for games moving from one location on hard drive to another and updating game to pull from new location?

    Hi,

I'm Rodrigo and I'll help you.

Open the File Explorer, right-click Documents in the navigation pane > Properties > Location tab. What is the path shown?

I'm still very confused about cloud saves....

Thanks for the reply! One last question, once i copied the data from the cloud to the Hard Drive, Is the data always going to save a backup to the hard drive automatically? If so, do i have to select cloud storage when launching the game for that save every
time in order to back it up?

And another thing, i noticed that not all saves can be copied to another storage, only moved. Will these games make it impossible for me to make a backup using cloud?

    Thanks in advance.

Original Xbox Games with transfer cable

The Transfer cable is designed solely to move data from one hard drive to another. It is not designed to extract certain saved game files in order to play them.

If you want to play a saved game from that hard drive, simply install the hard drive onto your Xbox.

<edit> I just realized you that you are asking about an original Xbox game. The transfer cable will only work between Xbox 360 hard drives. They will not work with original Xbox hard drives.

    Tomb Raider - Level Reset

Hmm is there anyway the save data would be on another hard drive or moved somewhere else? And are youre using the same Xbox live profile?

Does the game say it's corrupted at all if you look at the data on your hard drive?

    Saving on different harddrive?

Thank you for contact us! I'm Anderson, an Independent Consultant and a Microsoft user like you.

    Good morning

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble saving your Xbox games to a different hard drive. It can be frustrating when things don't work as expected.

First, it's important to note that changing the default save location for Xbox games can sometimes be a bit tricky, especially if you have already purchased games and have saved them on your original hard drive. However, it is possible to change the default save location for future downloads.

To change the default save location for Xbox games, follow these steps:

Open the Xbox app on your PC and click on your profile picture.

Select "Settings" from the dropdown menu.

Click on "System" from the left-hand menu.

Under "Storage," click on "Change where new content is saved."

Select the new hard drive where you want your games to be saved and click "Apply."

Once you've changed the default save location, any new games you download should automatically save to the new location. However, if you have already downloaded games to your original hard drive, you may need to move them manually.

To move games to a different hard drive, follow these steps:

Open the Xbox app on your PC and click on "My Library" from the left-hand menu.

Find the game you want to move and click on it to open the game details.

Click on the three-dot menu icon and select "Manage game & add-ons."

Click on "Move" under "Installation options."

Select the new hard drive where you want to move the game and click "Move."

It's possible that your downloads are reverting back to the C: drive because you haven't moved the games that are already on that drive to the new location. Once you've moved all of your games to the new hard drive, they should stay there.
