“Save games are still uploading on another Xbox” Error

I’m running into an issue where my cloud saves for a 360 game I played on my One are not loading for my Series X. The error message I get every time I start the game on the Series X is as follows: “Save games are still uploading for [gamertag] on another Xbox. If you use cloud saved games in this session, you may lose progress. Allow cloud saves?”

When I get into the game it’s at my previous save, not the current one, erasing a whole day’s worth of progress. Thankfully the current save loads on my One, but I’d like to play on my Series X without having to lose that progress.

Is there any solution to this or am I just not able to play 360 games on two different consoles?

I had shut off my Series X last night to come back to the issue today, and it turns out that’s all that was needed to resolve the error. Figures turning it off and back on again was the solution

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

You saved progress should sync on both consoles. For cases like this what we initially need to do is to quit the game on your Xbox Series X and perform power cycle in that way once you launch the game your in-game data will just re-sync.

Kindly quit the game and follow the steps below before you re-launch the game.

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

Make sure that your Xbox One is connected to Xbox Live as well, kindly perform an extended powercycle on your Xbox One.

1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

Hello Caboose_Is_Fun, sorry to hear you're having trouble.

If your Cloud save has not uploaded from the last device then you'll need to reload the game on that Xbox and then save it from the main menu and finally quit the game and close it via the side bar before the save is available on the Cloud to other devices.

Hey, General C34! It looks like that error only appears on the Xbox 360 when another console is trying to either use the save, or it's pending an upload (as seen on our
360 cloud save article). It's likely that it's somewhere, on an older console, trying to upload to the cloud.

It's kind of weird if you think about it too hard...

Do you have access to *any* 360 to try to load the game up there and see if you get the same error? I think that would be a good place to start.

EDIT: Looks like Steve hopped in before I refreshed.

I still highly suggest trying a 360 console. Just because it doesn't work for one person, it could still work for you. And it's a troubleshooting step that needs to be attempted if there is
access to a 360.
