Save game progress for xbox 360 on Xbox one

So hello. I own both xbox 360 and xbox one. But after recent months, and tales of vesperia and a few other titles showing up on xbox one (either backwards compatible or remastered). I have begun making a full transition to xbox one. But one issue has kept me from going full on. Save game progress for backwards compatible xbox 360 titles on xbox one. The issue I am having is pretty much below.

For xbox one games, regardless of digital or disc, the save game progress is saved to hard drive

Where as if its a backwards compatible xbox 360 title on xbox one (either digital or disc), it saves to the cloud instead.

I understand its purpose is to transfer saves between 360 and xbox one, but why is it a thing? Why can I not save my backwards compatible 360 titles to the xbox one hard drive and when I want to transfer my data to my xbox 360, I can then upload it to the cloud?

I am hoping this question escalates to the point where it is corrected by Microsoft in a future update, as quite frankly its upsetting I do not have a choice where I save my backwards compatible 360 titles to either hard drive or cloud.

    :)

Backwards Compatibility with xbox 360 saves

Here are the full steps from the support page on how to continue playing an Xbox 360 game in progress on your Xbox One

To continue playing a game on Xbox One that you started on Xbox 360, save it to the cloud. If you're already using cloud saves, you're good to go. If your saved game is stored only on your Xbox 360, you'll have to upload it to the cloud.

Enable cloud-based storage on your Xbox 360

To enable cloud-based storage, you need:

A current Xbox Live Gold subscription

At least 514 MB of space on your console

    Now, follow these steps:

Go to Settings and then System.

Select Storage and then Cloud Saved Games.

    Select Enable.

Start the game on your Xbox 360 console. When you're prompted to select a device for saving your game, choose Cloud Saved Games.

End your game and leave your Xbox 360 on long enough for the console to upload your saved game.

Start the game on your Xbox One console. You'll pick up where you left off.

To confirm that your saved game has synced with the cloud, follow these steps:

On your Xbox 360 console, go to Settings and select System.

Select Storage, and then select Cloud Saved Games.

    Select your game.

If it says "In sync," it's available to play on Xbox One.

If your game hasn't synced, start the game, save your progress, and exit again.

Some games (mostly arcade games) will save your game progress to your profile instead of creating a save file. Even though you don't see a file, your game progress will transfer over when you change consoles.

Make sure you save your game frequently while playing on Xbox One. If you open another full-screen app or game without saving, you'll lose your unsaved progress.

Will the progress of the games I played on Xbox 360 be lost if I play the same games on Xbox One?

Hi, no you will not lose your progress if you move your xbox 360 save to the cloud before you start the game on the Xbox One.

Game Progress from Xbox 360 to Xbox One

While you can continue your progress on the Xbox One by transferring the Xbox 360 saves to the Cloud, saves are not transferrable between accounts.

    GTA V (Xbox 360) / GTA V (Xbox One)

I would go back to the 360 Version because I got a great friend who has GTA V Xbox 360 and does not yet has an Xbox One and GTA V Xbox One... That is why when I came back to the 360.. All the progress I did in GTA Online of Xbox One did not save in Xbox
360.. And I was wondering if anyone knew about that already.. And why it did not save the progress?

    World of tanks

It sounds like you've already saved your World of Tanks game progress to the cloud on the Xbox 360, so after you've signed in with your gamertag on your new Xbox One, navigate to the Xbox store and download the Xbox One version of World of Tanks for free. Once World of Tanks is downloaded, open the game and your tanks and game progress from the Xbox 360 should synchronize.
