Save files in cloud and PC not the same

It is important to note that not all save files from Xbox Cloud Gaming games can be transferred to the downloaded PC version of the game or the other way around (please keep in mind that when you play in the cloud, you are using the Xbox console version of the game, regardless of whether you are playing from a mobile phone or any other device). Only games that are part of "Xbox Play Anywhere" have this functionality. These games offer Cross-Save capabilities between the downloaded PC version of the game and the console version of the game (the version that runs from the cloud).

That's a misunderstanding of the cloud honestly. Yes, the save is linked to your Gamertag but it's only a back-up of the last save on each system you played on. It allows you to access that file on other Xbox's or the PC if it's a Play Anywhere title.
If you both play on the same Xbox, the cloud will only have the last saves for both of your accounts. You should check her account to see if your save file is there. If both save files are the same, somehow yours got overwritten and unfortunately there will
be no way to recover that.

It should save automatically on the cloud, everytime you start the game, it tries to sync with the cloud, the newest save file goes to the cloud, wether it's on your pc or xbox live,

Thanks for coming to the forums. Most PC games have their own save files on the PC themselves. On the Xbox console, there are cloud saves. This is why it is advertised as having cloud saves due to the console. They are saved automatically on the Xbox console
to the cloud. If you purchased game through steam would need to reach out to them how it is saved.

Game saves are not automatically added to the cloud storage system. You have to choose to save the file in the cloud storage the same as you would if you were saving it on the hard drive.
