Save data gone in many Xbox One games while in offline mode.

Hello,

A few days ago during a network problem that many had for a few hours. I discovered that Xbox One games that I had not played for a few months had no save data. While games I had played recently seemed fine. Getting back online the cloud gave me my missing
files back.

My question about this is. Is it normal to have to play a game while the Xbox One system is online to keep the save files working in offline mode? And if not what can be done to fix it so that my saves stay intact on the hard drive for offline play?

Lost Save Files (BF4, DR3 & Ryse)

I may have figured it out. I had the same problem and could not find any answers so i did a factory reset on it since all my data was gone anyway. That seems to have fixed it. It gave me an option, after installing the game to use cloud storage or go in
offline mode which i assume means save locally. It now saves and i can continue from last save but don't know if this is a permanent fix. Also as far as previous cloud save data i think its long gone.

 

Game save transfers to Xbox One S or Scorpio

Saves are automatically sync'ed between systems, if you buy an xbox one s it would be like playing on an xbox one. You won't notice a difference in how games access save files, plug in the new system and download your profile. Boot up a game and wait while
the game syncs, your save data will then be available offline as well.

Every time you see the sync your system is sync'ing your offline save with your cloud save, and it will work the same on S and Scorpio.

 

Every game your saved in your storage is still there. Only cloud saves need you to be online

 

That is not how it was working for games I had not played in a while.
