Save and Load issues on Final Fantasy XIII (Xbox One)

I tried to save on the game but it just doesn't do anything except say about the storage device which is obviously cloud based. Even tho load option does it. I checked my disc but it works perfectly.


Funny thing is that it's at the first save area so if I can't save or load then it's pointless playing it.

That is probably a case of corrupt save files. Delete the local saves, delete the game, restart the console and download the game again

Have you tried doing a hard reset on your system to see if that clears up the issue?

 

Delete the save file and power cycle your xbox

 

All the suggestions didn't work as it reads the storage device then kicks me off the game.

 

Can you again try to go to the settings of your Xbox One console, and under storage delete the local Xbox 360 content.

Start Final Fantasy XIII again and before you do anything in the game, press Menu and View (the small buttons next to the Xbox button) at the same time to bring up the Xbox 360 guide menu.

There sign in with your Xbox One Microsoft Account email.

After you made sure you are properly signed in, try to play the game again until that save spot and make sure you are able to save now.

Also be aware, that in order for the game to properly sync to the cloud, and store the save correctly, you MUST quit the game properly.

Meaning, you will have to press the Xbox button on your controller, and highlight the currently running Final Fantasy game. Press the Menu button, and choose Quit.

If you simply switch to another game like you can usually do with native Xbox One games, your savegame might be lost.

 

I've just tried that and still boots me off the game when trying to save or load. The issue seems to be that since there is no storage for 360 saves due to the One using Cloud Only, then it can't do any save functions.

The save spot is literally like 30 seconds into the gameplay and uses manual saves.

Also this is the first time that 13 has been available Digital due to 3 disc issues so that could be the problem.

The Xbox One has an internal HD where game saves are stored. The Xbox One Cloud Storage is a backup storage if you need to clear the local hard drive storage in the event of corrupted files or if you decide to play on another console using your account.

I suggest uninstalling the game, hard reset your Xbox, re-install the game and see if it's doing the same thing. If it is still not saving or loading then I suggest getting a hold of an external drive to test if the internal hard drive is malfunctioning.

A
soft factory reset is also a good option to clean out any potentially corrupted data. Make sure to select keep my games and apps, as well as have your account login information available as you will need it to re-download your profile to your Xbox.
