I've bypassed my AV receiver and still can't get any check marks passed the 1st one under the advanced 4k TV Details. Anyone have any insight with the same setup?

Hdr washed out colors and dimmer during hdr content

I am having the same problems here with my Xbox One S and my Samsung KS8000.

The first time I used my Xbox One S HDR was fine. After a preview update the problem appeared. I reverted back to the normal update and still same problem.

I changed some video settings like putting 12 bit colors and now the HDR problem looks solved. But definitely the Xbox one S has some HDR issues.

UHD Color is the Samsung equivalent of HDR10 and supported by the 40" Samsung TV model in the other thread. Look it up in the manual. The other guy mentioned also that he eventually got an LG, so there's another HDR supported 40" panel for your needs.

I am having the same problem with the 8500, hopefully we can work together to come up with a solution. I will keep you posted on anything I hear back and please do so for me as well.

There was one way that I got all of the green checkmarks, let me explain how and what happened to get them to turn back to Red Circles and lines. The first thing I did on the Xbox One S is change the resolution to 1080 from the dropdown menu. Then I went
and unchecked all of the boxes, 4K, 3D, HDR, 50HZ, etc. Then I went back to the TV settings menu and changed the UHD Color under HDMI 2 to ON. Then I went back to the Xbox One S menu and then one by one, checked all of the boxes. After I checked each box,
A popup would come up saying that the original changes would change back in 20 seconds and if I wanted to keep the settings, so I clicked YES each time. Eventually I had all of the green checkmarks and I thought all was good to go. Then when I went back
to the dropdown box with 720, 1080 and 4K, I selected 4K and the screen went blank and then I got the message from the TV that there was no longer a signal from the Xbox. I then went back to the TV turned the UHD Color off for HDMI 2 and then the Xbox screen
came back and all of the green checks were gone, back to red circles and lines.

    Thanks,

    Todd

I finally figured it out after hours of scouring internet forums! Not sure if this will work for you but hopefully.

Hit Menu on the TV remote and select Menu > Picture > Picture Options > HDMI UHD Color. Then turn it on for whatever HDMI port your running the Xbox on.

I like using my 65" Samsung 4K with HDR and my 50" Samsung 4K with HDR. I mainly play games on the 50" with my Xbox One X. More Netflix and movies on the 65" with my Xbox One S.
