Samsung T3 won't format correctly

Agreed. New slim is on its way. Spent a couple hours online with a support person and came to the conclusion that it has the old samsung drives and it likely won't read the new format correctly. Guess the kids get another xbox for their older games lol.

Remove any Format existing in the Text. It won't work correctly (all the time) by using the Font Color Black or some other "hidden" Format. It must be "no" Color (default).

Sorry you're having issues getting 4k / HDR with your TV. Looking at the specs of your TV it doesn't appear to be HDR, so that wouldn't be an option. With Samsung's MU Series TV you would need to be in the 7000 range, and not the 6000 range. That said, I
have a Samsung HDR 4K, and to get it to properly register you need to go to the Samsung menu and enable UHD color on the HDMI port you're using. If you don't do that, then the Xbox won't detect it correctly.

Your 1st option did the trick, scared me a bit at 1st, because the T7 is still heading the capture location option, but when I clicked on "Capture Location", I now have 2 options, T7 and Internal.

Hey, pretty sure I'm way more confused than you are.

Jesse, I haven't tried recording or storing files yet. All I'm doing is following the instructions I read online to set up the external drive and to choose "External Storage" over Internal.

The instructions said, "Scroll down to Capture Location, change from Internal to the External drive you have plugged into the usb port on the Xbox. After changing location, a confirmation window appears, click confirm.

The (expected results) of the above instructions never transpired. Again, the drive didn't show up til I pulled and reinserted the usb cable then held the X on the controller for 10 secs. However, now, only the T7 is available,;

1. It is not designated as an External or Internal drive

2. There is no longer an Internal drive option



There is no option to choose Internal or External, now there is only the T7 ssd, which more or less is a contradiction to the instructions.
