It all depends really, since LCD tvs/monitors are relatively slim, they seam to trade the sound for size, so generally an LCD will produce a slightly tinny sound, but if you sit close, it isn't so bad. I personally play on a 22" Samsung tv, it can double
as a monitor as most LCDs have every single connection possible, dvi, hdmi, vga and scart. In a personal opinion, i'd go for a tv, as opposed to a monitor, speakers on monitors aren't great, maybe a little worse (but that's up for debate). So to try and give
a little light on your question, i'd recommend a Samsung, with a contrast ratio of at least 10,000:1, and depending how close you are sitting, either a 22" (if very close, like on a desk and chair) or a 32" (if sitting on a sofa, and tv is on a stand)

For me: Toshiba, Samsung, Panasonic for the TV realms and ASUS, Dell, Samsung for the Monitors.

It sounds like there is something with this monitor that needs to be changed to get this working, or at least a setting on the monitor that needs to be changed. You may need to ensure the console is plugged into the proper HDMI port on the monitor as only
1 HDMI input will support the HDMI 2.0 connection for 4K. Have you tried switching the HDMI port on the monitor and ensured the proper settings are selected on the monitor to support the feature?

You may want to reach out to Samsung support as well for this issue, since we know the console is outputting video in this case (if switching the port doesn't work).
