I'm looking at a Samsung UHD HDR tv but I'm unsure wether it will take advantage of the Xbox one s HDR 10 as it just says it HDR in the description,I have researched into TV but it doesn't say it's HDR 10 do I just presume it will work well because it says
    it's HDR capable

    Xbox One S HDR Bug

    Same issue for me

Open Netflix and HDR enables on my TV even though I haven't started any HDR content. Stays in HDR mode until I open another app or game.

Samsung KS8000 not sending proper HDR signal

I want to say I have all my hdr settings turned on and the games run fine and look great when hdr is enabled. The problem is Xbox must not be sending the correct hdr information because the Samsung tv is supposed to go to hdr settings when it gets an hdr
signal. This works for other devices but not the Xbox. I am not the only one to notice this.

    Rtings noticed the same thing

Hi, I wouldn't take anything for granted, remember the debacle that was HD Ready ?

I would suggest you check for sure that the TV has a 10 bit panel, perhaps verify it with Samsung themselves. What model number is it you're looking at getting ?

SAMSUNG UE40KU6470 Smart 4k Ultra HD HDR 40" LED TV. Thanks for responding guys I copied and pasted the model from pc world website. I tried my 4K Sony Bravia with the slim but HDR didn't work but it doesn't say it has HDR in description, but apparently can
add this with an update but as I said HDR didn't show as ticked in the slim settings,I'm confused with it all because there is more expensive Samsung TVs with HDR 1000 I don't know what that is ,I don't really want bigger than 40 inch either because of room
    size

    Hi,

I googled the e-manual for the TV model you mentioned. Manual was in dutch, and although I don't speak a word of dutch you can still read on page 96, that when using UHD Color on your HDMI input where the Xbox is connected to, 10 and 12-bit color spaces
are supported. So in short, yes that TV supports HDR with Xbox.

GFx1 thanks a lot I actually downloaded the manual in English but what I don't understand are the 2 dashes underneath rgb 4.4.4 and ycbcr 4.4.4 but the others have zero

Dashes mean that the sampling for those color schemes are not available. The zeros are equivalent of checkmarks, that in this color scheme, sampling is available. And with UHD Color setting turned on, the 10-bit and 12-bit sampling for color depths YCbCr
4:2:2 and YCbCr 4:2:0 are available. Xbox One S supports all of the color depths. And 10-bit sampling is the equivalent of HDR10. So as long as you turn UHD Color on the TV, you will get HDR color support with this TV set.

Thanks GFx1,I opted to get the LG 40UH630V instead this has HDR pro and it all works well with the slim. Just feels a bit weird playing online black ops 3 now because I'm going from 32 to 40 inch but it did also seem a lot better when I set it to game mode

Not getting 4k Resolution or HDR

    Hi beargrizzle25,

Sorry you're having issues getting 4k / HDR with your TV. Looking at the specs of your TV it doesn't appear to be HDR, so that wouldn't be an option. With Samsung's MU Series TV you would need to be in the 7000 range, and not the 6000 range. That said, I
have a Samsung HDR 4K, and to get it to properly register you need to go to the Samsung menu and enable UHD color on the HDMI port you're using. If you don't do that, then the Xbox won't detect it correctly.
