    Same email forever different account?


    Booted up new Xbox ONE, told me my password is wrong. I know its not, but whatever changed it. Log into xbox with new password. Given random gamertag, try and change it back to old gamertag (which is attached to this email) said its taken.

    I want my old gamertag back, but its taken.. BY ME, on the same email that I am currently using but am not allowed to recover any of my data from when I used a 360.

    Wouldnt let me chat with Xbox support because I had to fill out my name in the request form, but the fields were uneditable. So here I am. Someone from Xbox please contact me so I can rearrange details on this account, because every support step and troubleshooting
    hasnt worked.

    Same email, different gamer tag

    When I tried to sign into xbox one I was told there was an error and to go to account.live.com. I did this, couldn't see anything wrong then noticed I had been given a gamer tag PurebredTomb2 when the gamer tag originally assigned to me through my account,
    and the one I have been using, was StretchySalmon6. As a result I can't login to my xbox one. please help! Thanks

    Hey StretchySalmon!

    In all honesty, you're best bet is probably going to be to talk to Xbox Support. You can reach them:
    Xbox One Support | Xbox 360 Support | Xbox Live and Billing Support or at 1 (800) 4-MYXBOX (1 800 469 9269) I would recommend choosing the issue for 'My Account' and explain to them what's going on. It's possible there could be a typo
    making a mess of things or that your account got split up somehow.

    There can only be one primary email alias for each account. You more then likely forgot the email for your other account and made a new account with your current email. You will need to contact Xbox Support by signing into a Microsoft account at
    support.xbox.com/contact-us

    If you're currently signed into the account on your Xbox 360, go to Settings>Account>Billing info and it will tell you the email for the account.

    Need help with linking a Minecraft account to a Microsoft Account after having the linked account terminated due to being compromised.

    I made a new Microsoft account with the same email as the hacked Microsoft Account since it was deleted. Does that mean that Minecraft account is dead forever?

    If her email was a Microsoft server email (@hotmail.com, @outlook.com, @msn.com, @live.com) unfortunately there would be no way to recover the email once it is taken off of an account it would be gone forever.

    would there be anyway to recover it in general or is it gone forever, permanently, for all uses?
    It would be gone forever for all uses because at this point the new email that you entered in is considered the primary email for that account.

    The Microsoft account (email) and the Xbox account are pretty much one in the same as far as Microsoft is concerned. The Xbox account is forever tied to the Microsoft account. This is why the creation of child accounts with their own email address is important. If you want things to be seperate, then one of you will have to start fresh with a new account.
