If you believe that Microsoft has accidentally fallen into this position I have some fantastic deals on swampland in Florida that you may be interested in.

 

I think it's massively smart esp as Xbox is on the 2nd fab of their chip which has helped yields and fab costs. There are several article on the net with changes in the motherboard and notable changes of the number on the main APU. No doubt this has saved
them money which was passed on.

I thought about posting this topic last night when I found an
article from IGN. Now I wonder why I didn't...

 

It's not that the chip which started off with xxxxx - 001 when the dates on the chip changed recently to 2014 week 21 the xxxxx - 002 incrimented. This usually means they are on the same 28nm but a slightly better revision.

It was spotted by some some eagle eyed tear down staff, it could be related to something else but makes sence.

 

Huge discounts, xmas presents being bought. Most ps4 owners now buying xo aswell (like me).

All contributing factors.

No doubt the release of Halo MCC, Forza Horizon 2 and Sunset OD have all contributed to this aswell.

Well done MS and for the first time outselling the ps4 (in the US and UK).

The real test is can MS maintain the market share they enjoyed last month?

Either way im not bothered I realised a long time ago to get the best out of gaming you need all systems. (yes even a wii u)

 

All it was dropping the price tag down to $329 from $499. All this did was concede that the only way MS's Xbox One is a better deal is to drop the price by $50-$100. From the latest eat sales rumours, Xbox One only outsold PS4 by 200 000 consoles. With MS
practically giving away their machine, these sales numbers are pathetic.

@Az.....had the X1 been selling comparable to its competition, I guarantee there wouldn't be the price drop like there is right now. Anyone thinking otherwise is purely delusional. It is simple economics.

And with the bundles and price drop to only outsell the PS4 by a few hundred thousand isn't that great of an accomplishment, seeing Sony hasn't dropped their price yet.

Like I said though, it's a good thing; that way no one is going to be resting on their laurels.
