    data if desired. The chip also offers audio out and in, so it's possible to add a different audio signal to the video if desired, but we're not using that here.
    That converts
    the digital domain back into something for transmission to the analog domain.
    The HDMI packet contents are not altered. None of the video or audio data is "processed". Moving
    from the analog domain to the digital domain and back to the analog domain all happens at wire speed.
    Then it would
    be a mechanical switch. Those are not ideal.
    Good thing you don't have to think about it, then. They did the work and posted their results. Don't like it? Do your own testing
    and post your evidence for others to critique.
