As long as you didn't do or say anything that violates the code of conduct you have nothing to worry about.

Reports are anonymous so they won't know it was you that reported them unless you specifically taunted them about it.

The best course of action with toxic people is to report and block them. The Policy Enforcement team will take it from there. They inspect each report and if they find that the person did violate the code of conduct they will issue punishment accordingly.
These investigations take time and you may never know the exact outcome; although, sometimes you will get a message from Xbox thanking you and letting you know that action has been taken - but they won't tell you what happened or to who.

Exactly two of them stop messaging me and the other one I blocked cause I was tired of the false threats that were made. But I didn't know blocking stops them from joining my game?

Also, by joining the game you mean like a random game I find when match making or if I host a game. That part might be confusing me.

Also for the messaging, I usually block people sometimes but I still receive messages for some reason. maybe that's a glitch on Xbox?

I assume you also blocked them too, that way even when their ban is up they can't join you in a game or message you.
