^^ Who plays games on easy? I only played on the medium setting, but 5 hours is short to me. If you struggled with it's extremely easy and simplistic gameplay and got more hours out of it than great.

If you have to crank a game up to it's hardest setting just to keep it from ending too quick is a bad sign.

  2. Ryse has one of the best campaigns I have ever played. Where it starts and where it ends... mind blowing. That alone should be worth the dosh, but there is also a Multiplayer mode, which WITH A FRIEND can be a blast and a half.

^^ The story is good, but if that was all I was going to get from something that costs 60 quid, I'd buy a book instead.

And if I saw a book that cost sixty quid I'd walk away with my head pointed upwards laughing like an idiot.

But yes, 60 quid is pushing it a wee bit. I still have no regrets though.

  5. Depends on what the book was surely?

Reviews, both critic and player, seem so divided on Ryse that it kind of makes me want to play it even more.

That so few seem to have a "meh! It was alright" stance on it is very odd.

  6. To an extent, but at the moment I'm reading crime fiction. I just picked up One Shot by Lee Child, and had that been priced at sixty quid... like I said above.

  7. I'm currently reading .77p zombie books on my Kindle. I haven't found one I'd pay a pound for yet, let alone sixty of them.

It's a Marmite game, hated by people who have never played it, mainly loved by those who have.

Deacon how long did you search for the one critic that loved the game lol? Game was ok but deserves no higher than a 6
You obviously didn't pay attention to the name of the person that wrote the review, huh? Ryse: Son of Rome to get 4k support! ;) He didn't have to search very far because that's his own review. I love the way he tried to play it off otherwise though.

  11. The most expensive book I've ever seen that wasn't a classic/antique was The Complete Calvin and Hobbes Colletion, priced at over $200+.

@vDeacon - Come on now, don't play dumb. If you had even a shred of integrity then you would have mentioned that it was your own review that you were promoting. You never even *hinted* at that fact though, huh? Instead, you tried to play him for a fool with
your response when he asked where you found such a review.
lol @pkvas ... i didn't have to search very far .. i know quite a few people who enjoyed Ryse .. it's still one of the best looking games on any console ... and the story is tops. it's easily in my opinion a game you should play on

Brilliant game. Hands down the best Next Gen release on any platform.

Only a pretty game for those that haven't played it.

Only a short game for those who rushed through the campaign on recruit.

Once you've begun to expand your moveset and become fluid with the combos so that you're hitting them before the prompts, that's when the game really takes off.

Of course with it coming to PC we'll all be able to enjoy an experience that looks better than real life as the screen shot below demostrates:
