Rumours Of This Game Being A Glitchfest Are Grossly Exagerated

So it all kicked off with "Kotaku" creating a 6 minute video compilation of some of the glitches they had in "Assassin's Creed: Unity".

Immediately other gaming sites jumped on the bandwagon, there's even a BBC News article about "Assassin's Creed" being unnacceptably glitchy...

Except... when you watch people playing on Twitch... the game is running fine.

So much so that I picked up a copy myself and apart from a couple of slight animation mismatches while free-roaming there have been nothing of the promised unplayability that so many internet gaming sites were screaming about.

I suppose "Great game is great" isn't much of a headline but "Highly Anticipated Title is Unplayable" is bound to attract more attention.

Shame if it puts people off actually getting this game because Paris is mind blowingly stunning.

Next generation. People look up the meaning and you shall be enlightened. The whole next Gen word usage is grossly being used to usher in a new era of gaming. Now that sounds better, "new era of gaming". I think in the next 30 or so years the amount of innovation
will not equal what has come in the past 30 years.

The words next Gen are being over used and grossly misrepresented.

series died in 2008 after WaW... MW2 was the biggest glitchfest ive ever seen, what a joke of a game.

 

I believe the game is a lot more glitchier on PC, go read all the reviews on STeam and they all talk about headeache inducing low frame rates to getting stuck in the enviroments and not being able to play for more than 30 minutes without your PC freezing.

On my XBOX I have only experience some minor glitches and frame rate stuttering here and there, completely acceptable for a game of this caliber.

Not being able to connect to the Ubisoft servers is killing me though...

 

There are major Glitches in the XBONE version, two right off the top

The Hay wagon Glitch, jump into a Hay Wagon the Hay turns white and you are stuck there I have had this hit me three times the most recent last night in Coop it happens in free roam as well as in coop. I cant understand how a basic feature that has been
there since the very start can get so *** up (I have played all but one of the games).

Second in Coop my partner in coop in fight sequences can suddenly find themselves unable to kill nor can they be killed in regular combat, they can however be shot by snipers, otherwise they take no damage nor can they dispense it. Seen this about every
other coop mission.

There are others but that's my top two right now

 

The game is great but the falling through the ground thing definitely happens. I figure it happens to me at least once each day. I've put at least through different clips in my shared videos. Another time I was crawling down a building and ended up half
inside a room and half inside a wall.

Great game, but there are definitely glitches. That and the fact that the companion app and and Initiates don't work properly is really annoying.

 

Also sometimes if there are criminals nearby (part of the crowd missions) and also a lot of enemies where you are - you're sometimes not able to fight them at all. It's probably the issue that Mahburg was having above.

I'm not saying there are no glitches because all games have them.

However some internet sites would try and have you believe the game is unplayable which is false.

 

It seems to be a different experience for different players. Myself, I haven't noticed anything that terrible when I play. A couple of motion issues once in a while, but I attribute that more to mechanics than anything. But there are some for whom this game
is quite literally unplayable. I have a friend right now who can't even launch the game after patch 2, and another who experienced the haycart glitch. I doubt that the game is behaving precisely the same way for everyone, and at this point some would say unplayable
because it's literally true for them. Certainly not for everyone though.

 

I have fallen through holes in the game world on several occasions. This AC installment is a turkey. AC Black Flag was much better.

Sounds like you are one of the lucky. I played for five days and it locked up. Talking about glitches, I cant even launch the game. I would love to at this point be able to play through the minor glitches.
