Rumor

Hey all,

While at work today a few of my associates approached me stating they overheard that my job (AMAZON) is interested in buying MS Games division, this of course is unconfirmed . I then asked why would this happen ? My associates seem to believe that XBOX
games is struggling financially. SMH, I don't believe it at all but it does make me curious, would we want AMAZON to take control of XBOX?

Microsoft would not get rid of their games division. The Xbox is one of the last holdouts making money for Microsoft. The surface has been a complete flop and cost MS $900 million in losses in the first year it was out. PC sales have been abysmal the past
year.

Amazon may be interested in entering the gaming market, but it won't be through MS. If anything, I see Amazon teaming up with an upcoming company like Steam where Amazon sells steam machines, hardware upgrades, peripherals, etc and steam machines have Amazon
marketplace built in type of thing.

 

I agree Surfguy360, this seems the best route from a business stand point.

Don't buy a conglomerate when you can buy a chunk of clay still mold able. And worth less!

I just made a similar post...I didn't notice this thread because of the title.

I feel like if anyone could pick up where microsoft left off it would be amazon. This company wants to grow. It wants to keep customers happy. With their lightening fast shipping, low prices/sales they could rival a company like steam. They already have
digital downloads....Not to mention, maybe amazon video could become a bigger part of xbox at a discounted price.

This is a company that isn't afraid to invest/innovate. # DeliveryDrones

Next McDonalds will want to buy it and will offer a weeks worth of hamburgers with the purchase of an X1.
