I doubt it. No need really. The game will have targets. If the old console is detected it will run at pre-determined settings. If the new console is detected it will run at a different set of predetermined settings. Letting people change those kinds
of settings on these consoles is not something I would think they would want to deal with. And it is something that would just require a little more work to develop when you can just target the two hardware versions and allow preset adjustments. The other
pre-determined check would obviously be VR capability for those units and the games that will work with them.

I am looking forward to a slim and a new console. Would buy a slim now. Then buy the upgraded model for myself later and replace the living room unit with the slim. Just put one up for a back-up or something.

 

I enjoy how Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 are right now. Xbox 360 still has the higher population than Xbox 1 does right now. Xbox 360 has weaker hardware, yet there are games and the social features of Xbox Live like party chat etc which keep people on Xbox 360.

As for this whole Xbox 2 and Xbox slim, I don't need it. It won't compete with my custom desktop PC which has Intel's flagship 6th gen Intel Core i7-6700k quad core processor (4 cores, 8 threads, hyperthreading, high 4Ghz base speed, with turbo boost to
4.2Ghz, according to Intel's site, under the i7-6700k 6th gen i7 processors ark, in product brief, Intel mentions it's their "flagship" processor), Sapphire Nitro (with back plate) AMD Radeon R9 390 GPU (8GB GDDR5 @ 384GB/s bandwidth, 512bit bus), 16GB DDR4
2400Mhz HyperX system RAM, 240GB Kingston Fury HyperX SSD (stores the OS and my games, I still have 152GB free) + 1TB 7200rpm Samsung HDD, 16GB HyperX system RAM, and Windows 10 Home 64-bit on it. My HP laptop which I got last year which suits my everyday
needs, struggles to play my PC games. PC games I have are The Sims 4, Cities Skylines and Planet Coaster. But my desktop PC can play these on maxed out settings in 1920x1080 with ease.

Why does someone who has said over and over that they play 1 or 2 games on their Xbox One need a bigger hard drive? Destiny doesn't take up that much space.

 

I heard and saw somewhere on the net that with the slim Xbox 1 console, it comes with a stand so you can stand it upright, and has a bigger internal HDD (2TB) and it is noticeably slimmer. If you want gaming to look at it's absolute best, go PC, not console.

Xbox Live I would say is the better online service compared to PlayStation the competition. I joined Xbox late 2010 and was deciding between Xbox and PS. Lots of peps said Xbox, since it has avatars and party chat. PS3 doesn't have party chat like Xbox 360.
And then they go copy Microsoft's idea in some ways, and incorporate party chat in their 8th gen consoles. Along with voice messaging, Kinect, etc. And Xbox has avatars which me and younger peps like. Gaming for some is all about the graphics. But for me it's
not just graphics, but the online service, and Microsoft does a good job with both that's why I joined them.

2 or 3 months ago, I decided to buy a custom desktop with 16GB DDR4 HyperX RAM, 6th gen Intel Core i7 6700k processor, and Sapphire Nitro AMD Radeon R9 390 (8GB GDDR5 @ 384GB/s bandwidth with 512-bit bus) with a 240GB Kingston Fury HyperX SSD for my Windows
10 OS and The Sims 4, Cities Skylines, and Planet Coaster, and it still has 153GB free left on my SSD. My custom desktop also has a 1TB Samsung 7200RPM HDD. I also keep my HP 15' sleek laptop with optical drive and 6th gen Intel Core i5 processor for everyday
things. So I have something which is better than the competition can dish out (my desktop custom PC), and Xbox. And I like it.

It will likely NOT be called Scorpio. Before Microsoft released official info regarding the 8th gen Xbox console, peps were calling it Xbox Durango and Xbox 720. They were completely wrong. Microsoft called it officially Xbox One. Several people including
me, may call it Xbox 1 (numerical value than alphabetical value), as you don't call Xbox 360 "Xbox three sixty".

 

Both the slim and project scorpio are now official, so no longer are they rumors.

 

Why would anyone buy an Xbox One s now when MS just announced a more powerful console next year?

 

because there will be people that aren't interested in 4k or VR, i'm one of them, and i bet it will be a lot more expensive.
