rude message displayed in the middle of a movie... possible hack?

So last night i came home with my partner and put on a movie from netflix, about half way through the movie, it stopped, the screen went black and a message popped up, me and my partner sat there for fifteen minutes thinking this message must be part of
the movie.... it wasn't. the message read "ofc I will take it out slowly kissing the tip but then quickly putting it all in my mouth"

I wondered if it MAY have been part of the fillm and there was a buffering error that just happened to pause it at that particular moment, but my console had frozen, so i turned it off, then back on, to find that my apparent last app used was xbox video....
which wasnt the case so i clicked back on to netflix and put the movie back on to the same place to see if it WAS part of the movie but the message wasnt displayed again.

I called xbox support this morning who basically told me I was a liar and that couldnt happen...... luckily I took a photo of the screen

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to HOW and WHY this happened and give a better insight than Daniel from support did by telling me "that cant happen, that didnt happen..... that cant happen"

Hello all.

I logged in this morning and i had a message waiting for me.

One word "Douche"

I will begin by saying i am in my early 40's been gaming since pong and will stop when they pry the controller from my cold dead fingers.

I do not trash talk or grief or in anyway act like a douche. I play for fun. I am easy going and helpful in multiplayer.

I did not know this person at all. What was interesting was they had a 17k gamerscore yet when i compared games to see where we might have crossed paths as live is full of classless people they had no achievements at all. Now i know people play different
games and we may not play the same ones. however I play a LOT of games being a shut in due to health issues.

Now it has occurred to me that there was a falling out with a clan member not with me but since i supported the clan leader as the member was out of line maybe they changed their tag? However that was months ago.

I took the right steps in blocking them and reporting them.

However kind of disheartening as it were.

Anyone else experience this?

 

It's possible that this was a message received and the system opened the messages automatically (either due to hand gestures on your part or something said that sounded like Xbox Go to Messages). You should check your messages and if I am correct report
the person who sent it.

You can report a person by going to their Bio and selecting File Complaint then following the instructions provided.

 

I checked my inbox, there was nothing there. When the message was displayed the entire screen was black apart from this white box in the centre with said message and a timestamp

Absolutely, it would help to see the screenshot - the format of the message, location etc. can help narrow down the possible channels through which the message came.

 

Is it out of the possibility that this is related to the play to feature. I remember seeing quite a few people on the 360 having inappropriate content show on their screens with this enabled, obviously compounded with little to no network security in place.

 

Since my edit didn't seem to go through, I'm just spitballing here but I'm wondering if it is possible someone in range of the network was able to connect up with the Xbox using play to. If it was done using a phone could that be the source of the message?
Was the message typical Xbox format?
