Rubber grip pealing off back of controller

I've spent the last couple of days trying to get into a web chat with Microsoft Support but I've had no luck, I've been keeping in mind the time of year being a factor in not being able to get in contact with them.

So I've had my Design Labs controller literally just over a year, it's exactly 26 days out of warranty according to the serial number I provided the virtual support agent but Microsoft have been pretty generous when it came to fixing the exact same issue
I was having with my elite controller when I had that. I'm hoping that posting in the forums will lead to a way of getting in contact with them or does anyone have a way I can reach them?

Im sorry to hear of your problem

As far as im aware as this is a bought product out of warranty i know Microsoft have a repair and warranty section which allows you to sign in and find out a cost of replacement. I would say you'd benefit from maybe heading there to make sure you are aware
of your situation first. Although im sure theres no harm in trying to continue contacting Microsoft/xbox directly perhaps via phone.

I had the same issue with the elite controller as well as the bumper button breaking I had to replace those 2 times. and the rubber grips have started to peal off. Im not sure a good fix on that

If it's an elite controller it should have the rubber grip on the back of the controller body.

I have had 1 Elite Controller grips peal but that was 2 year old, I do see that they have added the grips all the way around the controller this time I sure up it a lot better

To be fair I bought my Elite Controller in February 2017. The grips held up and did not start to come off until around November or December 2018.

It started small with a corner then the rubber grip on the left side eventually expanded off the controller around May 2019. So it took ~27 months before the grips came off.

The controller still works and I just used black gaffer tape to field repair the rubber back onto the controller. This actually is pretty comfortable since the rubber is below the gaffer tape and the gaffer tape has a slight texture which prevents the hand
from slipping off.

Considering the controller still works nearly 3 years later minus the complete failure of the left grip it is still a good value overall. $150 / 32 months = ~$4.69 per month. About the same as a grande of coffee from Starbucks.
