RT button clicks and won't work!

I've been having major problems with my RT button clicking and not working for some games. It works perfectly fine for BO3 and Rainbow Six Siege, however when I play GTA V the RT button doesn't work. For example when I try and shoot I have to forcibly hold
down the RT to shoot. Plus the clicking annoys me. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Touch buttons won't work

my xbox one touch buttons won't work so I can't remove disc. Also can't hard restart as power button won't work either, can only use controller. Anyone have this problem or able to give some help?

 

Block button won't work

Hi, sorry to hear this is happening. After you press block it takes a while for it to have its effect, wait on his/her profile screen after you press block until the "block" option turns into "unblock" and then you'll be all good.

 

If you already updated the controller's firmware, either get a new one or get it replaced if under warranty (90 Days).

 

Thanks for the suggestion I'll probably have to buy a new controller b/c I think the warranty ran out but thanks for the help I appreciate it.

 

I had the same thing with my launch period controller. Was having trouble with Fallout thorowing grenades and mines. Switched controllers and its just a faulty button. I only use it for games that don't use that button much. Im lucky though I use my elite
controller more these days anyway. and I have 2 day one controllers to use.

 

I had the same issue in the last couple of days. My RT was making a plastic-like clicking sound. I thought some kind of cushioning had dislodged since it seemed to be otherwise functioning. Then I decided to plat GTA5/Online and found out I couldn't shoot,
and my vehicles were driving so slowly I could barely get up a hill.

I called MS and found out it was out of warranty, so I popped off the handle covers with the aid of a YouTube video. I discovered that one of the security screws had come loose, and that the triggers have magnets. The screw had become "attached" to the magnet
and was preventing the trigger from completely depressing. With some careful effort (magnet didn't want to let go) I freed the screw and replaced it (takes t8 security bit). Thus far I haven't had an issue since.
