RROD on Day One Xbox 360....

My Day One Xbox 360 has given up the ghost after nearly 9 years of stellar service (okay, I've had it repaired twice by MS before but both times were quick and efficient) I'm worried this time because a lot of forums are saying I should just buy a new one
as I'll only get a 90 day warranty and given the age, it may just be on the way out permanently. I can buy a second hand one from GAME and they'll give me a one year warranty but not component and not where I can plug in my original hard drive with all my
game saves. I guess my question is..... Is the repair worth it and if not, how do I get my game saves out of the old drive and into the new console. My 8 year old girl will KILL me if she loses her saves.... We've put major time into Lego Star Wars together......
Plus there's Kinectimals, Disneyland Adventures and others.... I'm an Xbox Live Beta tester veteran and saying goodbye to my Day One box (queued at midnight with pregnant wife to pick it up, ignoranamuses at GAME made us wait over an hour despite being third
in queue.... And yes, she was the one who insisted on going, I had work the next day so didn't even fire it up til I got home.... Memories....)

    :)

  3. Advanced Exchange = 100%!

Hello everyone RROD on Day One Xbox 360.... :)

After all that I've gone through (2 defective DVD Drives on the Original Xbox and 2 defective DVD Drives / 4 RRODs on the Xbox 360), I would be super ultra angry if my Xbox One broke.

Have a nice day or afternoon or night everyone RROD on Day One Xbox 360.... :)

Repair cost is less then a new 360, but it is an old console, so I have to say that the decision is really yours. You can transfer everything to the new console by using an official transfer cable. Do not use one that is not licensed by XBOX as I have heard
of people having problems with them. You then do the following to transfer the licenses to the new console: On your console, sign in to Xbox Live using the gamertag that you used to purchase the content.

Need to find your Microsoft account? See Find your Microsoft account email address.

Can't remember the password for your Microsoft account? See You have forgotten your Microsoft account password.

Go to settings and select Account.

Under Your Billing Options, select License Transfer.

Follow the instructions to transfer the content licenses.

After the licenses are transferred, you need to download the content again to update the local licenses. For information about how to do this, see Download content you’ve previously purchased.

After you follow these steps, content can be used by other profiles on your console and when you’re not connected to Xbox Live.

  6. I'd like to add additionally that it may be more convenient to transfer your game saves to our Cloud Storage. And re-download them from Cloud after you have repaired or purchased another console.

Copy, move or delete individual items

    1. From Xbox Home, go to settings, and then select System.

    2. Select Storage.

    3. Select the storage device that contains the content you want to copy, move or delete:

    • Hard Drive: Your console’s hard drive.
    • Cloud Saved Games: Storage space on our Xbox Live servers. For more information, see Store your saved games in the cloud.
    • USB Storage Device: A USB storage device, such as a USB flash drive plugged into your console. To learn more about USB flash drives, see USB flash drive support for Xbox 360.Memory Unit: A memory unit plugged into your original Xbox 360 console.
Select the type of content that you want to copy, move or delete:

This can be considered more convenient for those who do not have or want to purchase a Data Transfer Cable. For digitally purchased Games on Demand or Arcade games can be got back by the steps suggested in the other post.

If you require more assistance in this check the contact methods below

    • Xbox Customer Support UK: 0800 587 1102 (+44 if dialing from abroad)
What ever decision you make, you're always safe knowing that you will be able to get all of your games, DLC, gamesaves restored.

I hope you get it sorted!
